Nice people. Just know you're coming here for something very inexpensive and very low grade meat that's tough and full of gristle. Good for what it does. Just don't confuse this with a tasty steak. You'll need to drown this in steak sauce to be able to eat it.

A couple coworkers and I stopped in for dinner while loading Phantom of The Opera into The Fabulous Fox theatre and let me tell you what, this place is a gem! Great food, friendly service, but the price was just right for hard working truck drivers. I can’t wait to get back to St. Louis and enjoy this place again!

Amazing food. When you are in line they yell next you yell out your order to them. If tou tip the cooks you can get tip potatoes they are amazing with cheese and onions. I had the chicken it was very tender and juicy the sauce was amazing. The steak is also very good. The prices are amazing 3 people under $40 you cannot beat that for a shrimp dinner, chicken plate, and a steak sandwich. The cooks are amazing the whole staff is friendly.

You either love it or hate it. This cafeteria-style restaurant offers cheap steak and a la cart sides and desserts. Stand in line and push that tray, toss on a cup of pudding and scoot it down the line. During peak times it can be super crowded. But if standing for 15 minutes doesn't bother you, you'll love it. The saving grace is that once you get through the line, the steaks are cooked quickly and to order. Not the best cut in town, but you're not paying $35 either. And don't forget, parking is all on-street. Your call!

We were visiting from out of town for a performance at nearby venue, and found The Best Steak House. The location and prices were what got us in, but we were unaware of history and significance of the joint (since 1964). It was fun - be ready to order when they shout "Next!" Service is attentive and friendly, too. As I was walking through the line with my tray to pick up my order, one of the cooks noticed that I had failed to pick up a salad, and he made sure I knew it is included with the meal I selected. I'll be back!
