  This is a good bank. Checking is free. Savings account is not the best. Money market is better but no FDIC on that. I like they have ATM at CTA stations and branches inside Jewel Osco. I have been a customer for more than ten years and I have not had problems. But that's because I don't really use it for anything other than checking.

  I have actually came here a few times in the past while taking classes at City Colleges of Chicago - Harold Washington College. This location was perfect when I needed to make deposits into my account in-between my classes on campus. Now living on the west-side of Chicago, a lot closer compared to when I discovered this location, I noted it as one near me with an easy commute to via CTA Washington/Wabash which eliminates the headache of driving. Despite this location being downtown, I always encounter lines, but nothing too excruciating making me want to leave. And there are always enough bank tellers to keep the line moving consistently. During my visit, Jacqueline, who was the bank teller that assisted me spoke with me about the points and perks of the maximum rewards visa card. The mention of it was yet another seed planted and thought of me getting it as like many of the other tellers do, but she was more thorough despite there being other customers waiting in line. Overall, this visit was pleasant as like my past visits to make deposits at this location. Thomas G

  This is the only TCF Branch that I visit. I love the fact that it opens at 8AM. All of the staffs tellers and security guards that I've encounter have been very pleasant. If you haven't visit this branch, I highly recommend it.

  Took 5 minutes to open a checking account online. The location itself wasn't crowded and there was no wait time. Received my debit card instantly, so no waiting for it to be mailed!!! This has been the easiest banking experience ever.

  Went there to cash a old second national bank check and literally wasted 45 minutes of my life, not to mention missed both trains home, only for them to tell me they couldn't cash it. After I left the manager called me back because they'd continued to process the check after my departure. So I had to go back so they could cancel the process. I decided oh, I'll just hit the currency exchange so I can cash this check. Guess not because TCF had me endorse the check so no currency exchange, bank, or any one else would cash this check. Ultimately I had to get a new check printed. So THANK you for wasting my time.
