  I shop at Somos because Marie and her staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and creative. I have bought and received many beautiful pieces of jewelry from there as well as had old pieces expertly repaired. When I was looking for a present for my friend’s special birthday, Marie made suggestions to help me select a pearl bracelet that was surprisingly below my budget—and my friend loves it! The costume jewelry is great too. One of my favorite costume pieces from Somos is (of all things) a belt my husband got me. It is the perfect accent to “dress up” an outfit and, every time I wear it, I get compliments. There is no doubt Somos is a true “gem" among Rockland County jewelers.

  I was so glad I went into the Somos Jewelry Store. I recently inherited some Jewelry and did not know what to do with them.. Marie the owner looked over the items and told me how we could modify them into pieces I feel really comfortable wearing. She made one ring into a pendant, turned a necklace into a bracelet for me. And she restored 2 rings that were broken and thin. She took a large pin and made it into 2 pendants so I could give one to each of my daughters. Everything looked brand new. I am so pleased with the quality and service and Marie was so patient and had so many good ideas. I would highly recommend this store.

  Marie at Somos Designer Jewelry was extremely helpful in guiding me to find the perfect engagement ring for my now fiancé. Her knowledge is unmatched. Marie explained all of the important things to know about diamonds and I could not be happier with my experience.

  I just needed a few segments removed from a watchband. These two were a little dramatic in expressing their dissatisfaction with the band itself saying it would never fit my wrist correctly. Then the man said he would look at and see what he could do. The woman stayed, I thought he would come back give me a price then he cane out I tried it on. It was good then then told me it was $20! For a 4 minute job! I told them the other jewelry shop was $8 and I did not think that $20 was appropriate and that they should have let me know. My advice ask how much first!!!! Feeling swindled.

  I wish I'd known of Somos Creations for the many years I've lived in Nyack. It's only in the last couple of years that I've become familiar with the talents and charm of owner and designer, Marie Somos. Marie recently turned some of my late mom's jewelry into updated pieces that were more my style, something I would wear. I was thrilled with what she created-- some are more casual pieces I wear everyday; others are fancier and more for formal occasions. Aside from how gorgeous the jewelry looks, I loved the fact that Marie was able to come up with design possibilities from which I could choose, because when I walked into her store, I had no idea what I wanted, no idea what a given piece could be made to look like! Though it's the jewelry that's the draw, the merchant and their service is important too. Marie is one of the nicest, friendliest people around. I've come to trust her implicitly and never have to wonder if I'm being "taken for a ride," so common in the jewelry business. Marie wants her customers to be pleased, to return again and again, and to recommend her services to others. She continues to give me every reason to want to do this.
