  I became ill in January and after long hospital stays I was told I needed to go to a long term acute care hospital. When Select Specialty Hospital was placed as a choice I was skeptical because of a bad experience with another location (with husband), but I decided to give it a chance (Gaston location) and Im glad I did. The wound care team saved my life ..literally Thank you Corizon and team. My therapy team Reggie, Jordyn and Desirae went above and beyond what was required and Im so thankful for them helping holding my pieces together as I not only dealt with my leg injury but dealing with grief, they were there. My nursing staff was exceptional from Manny, Amerita to Tee,Dionne, Tocarra,Yvette and so many others. Anybody I missed I love you .It was good times and some not so good times but they got me healed, they supported me emotionally and the doctors and nurses were phenomenal. Im so thankful for them all.

  Compassionate, very giving, and caring staff. They all went above and beyond the call of duty to take care of my Dad. Staff was very knowledgeable on what my dad needed. We were with them for three months and got to know everybody very well. Everyone worked together to get my father off of the vent and with the help of God I now have him home breathing on his own. I can’t thank everyone enough! I love you all and thank you for taking care of my loved ones. I would not trust them with anyone else. Again thank you all very much God has a special place in heaven for all of you (Angels).

  I wanted share the wonderful experience i had at Select. From day 1 they were hands on and very communicative with us on every step of the way. We had many ups and downs But they never gave up on us. They tired everything they had in there hands to help my dad of out of the Covid stage he was in. One hospital told us my dad was not going to make it and another Doctor that gave up on him BUT Select new he had life in him and they pulled through with teamwork. SO thankful to the RT supervisor and RT nurses. Now my dad is out in the world healthy and enjoy life us. Thanks to God and the Select Team.

  The level of care at this facility can and should improve for the sake of all patients. A handful of medical staff at Select are working to serve their patients with excellence, but changes are needed for this faculty to be considered a good place for your loved ones. If you place a family member here, please be watchful and advocate for their care! You can educate yourself and speak up on behalf of your loved one. It’s not wise to just blindly trust medical staff with the assumption they are right and have the best intentions. They often can not see the whole picture and have too many patients and therefore lots of important details get overlooked that can make a difference in the outcome of a patients health. Hopefully, Select can rise up to the challenge to be better! It would be great to see and know they cared enough about ALL patients to make changes to their staff, facilities, approach and overall care.

  The experience my loved had at select was great. The staff was very helpful towards my her and worked very diligently on helping my loved one get to her goals. Being able to go from being on the vent to discharged home with Oxygen was what we wanted. Kudos to the Respiratory staff for their communication and encouragement through the difficult process.
