Travel down to RDU at least 30-60 days a year and stay at Marriott ... The Rye Bar & Southern Kitchen is consistent in their quality and service, which is a good trait for a hotel restaurant. The food has some odd names which makes you tentative, just called it a Bacon Cheese Burger and not a Pulled Angus Applewood Bacon Sandwich ... but fear not, the food is simple but tastes good which is really what you want.

Some of the best food we've ever had, in portions larger than we could finish. Absolutely fantastic!

Got to a gathering late and had to rush through my meal but it was worth it. Chicken and waffles we're so good. In house BBQ sauce was fantastic and the drink menu was to die for.

I ordered a burger and it was bland. The salad I got with it was sere, the best part of the whole meal were the pickled cucumbers. The good part is it came out pretty quickly, probably because the place was almost empty and that the staff wasn't very busy.

Great atmosphere and conveniently located to memorial auditorium. Friendly management. For the price, cocktail was disappointing; garnished with an aged lime. Fried green tomato appetizer was amazing, and sides (sweet potato fries and carrots) were delicious. Rye mac-n-cheese entree is the first dish of mac-n-cheese in my 28 years of living that I didn’t like. It was way too smoky. I felt as if I was licking a grill plate. All I could taste was smoke flavor. My husband agreed. Sadly, it was terrible, and neither of us ate it. My husband’s meatloaf was delicious, though! Service was slow. This place has a lot of potential, but needs to sharpen up the quality of some items to match the lovely setting and menu prices.
