My daughter was admitted to Riley hospital north from our ER visit from IU saxony. i seen some of the comments saying that this wasn’t Riley hospital and was a regular ER. there is a Riley unit in this hospital for children if they are admitted. My daughter had to stay two nights here, she had the best care with the best nurses and doctors and staff. they were very attentive to my daughter, kind, caring, compassionate. i know that they work long shifts, but that did not change the type of care that they gave to her. i’m extremely impressed with the care she received. Thank you Riley North hospital staff. You all were amazing

My daughter was referred to this place after having difficulty after exercising and dizzy spells. We came 40 min. Early was called back with in 25 min. Just to sit a wait for the doctor for over an hour now. No different than your local dr.’s office.

This review is for the ER, the one that has a large sign hanging above it that says "Riley Hospital for Children". There is nothing about this ER that is Riley, nothing. It's an ER that has one doctor that treats both adults and children. Let's be clear, no red wagons, no colorful rooms, no nurses who love children that try to console them when they are hurt and scared. It's your run of the mill ER, complete with beige walls and adult patients shuffling your bleeding child to the back of the line because they have chest pain. If you live in Hamilton County and have a pediatric emergency, please save yourself the time and frustration we endured and take your little one to the closest, truly pediatric ER, Peyton Manning's Children Hospital. Our 3 yr old son split his chin open in a playground accident in Noblesville. My wife called me in a panic asking where to take him. I wanted her to get him somewhere asap that specialized in pediatrics, so who else but Riley [North], right? Boy was I wrong. We sat in the waiting area with our crying, bleeding son for an hour before getting called back. This while watching adult patients walk in after us and getting called back right away. The receptionist was nice enough to go back and get us some gauze after the Kleenex my wife was holding on his chin was saturated with blood. We finally get called back into an aesthetically sterile room and the (rude) nurse promptly informs us there's 3 chest pain patients in front of us. My wife asks "what about this place is Riley". The nurse says "well, if this was a true emergency there are Riley doctors on the 2nd floor that could come down and help". What!? Then she says the doctor will be in as soon as he can and quickly exits. We sit... for another hour. No doctor, no nurse checking on us, son still in pain, and oscillating between whimpering and crying. So, I go out in the hallway looking for someone. I find Hagatha (I'm pretty certain that was the nurses name) and ask when the doctor will be in. She repeats her chest pain patient talking points and he'll be in as soon as he can. Look, I understand chest pain is serious and needs immediate treatment. That's not my issue. What is my issue is that this place touts itself as Riley, which specializes in peds. This place does not. If an adult ER is what we wanted, we would have taken him to IU Saxony or St. V which were 10 minutes away. This was not the time to find they are false advertising. At the two hour mark, we packed up and headed to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent on 86th street. We were in a colorful room decorated with animals being treated within 5 minutes. Our son was surrounded by nurses who love kids and a lady who's job it was to hold an iPad for him and ask him what he wanted to watch. He was put at ease. A little over an hour and 10 stitches later we were sent home. Night and day experience. I hope we never need an ER for our kids again, but if we do, rest assured we'll go straight to Peyton Manning Children Hospital.
