  I'm from Dallas and come to San Antonio to work. I rarely have free time to explore and today I happened to have some time. We saw a place called The Dog Father gourmet hot dogs. Prices were too high so we searched for an alternative and discovered Pugel's. The food was amazing and the prices were good! I went in wanting a hot dog but ended up leaving with a delicious Reuben Sandwich in my belly. My friends both loved their Hotdogs. I didn't provide a picture because I forgot to take one but I highly recommend this place. Also, the waiter was very attentive, nice and fast . I will be going to eat there next time I'm in town!

  This is an awesome little restaurant! I ate hot wings & fries, my husband had Chicago style hot dog (being from Chicago, he said it was no comparison to Chicago, but good enough 😉) & my children had hot dogs & tater tots! We were just a little cramped, but loved the old time atmosphere as well as the outdoor seating! The waiters were super nice & very deserving of a generous tip!

  Pleasantly surprised they serve beer and wine, a perfect place to stop for a quick and tasty meal after the zoo or on your lunch break! Brunch is served as well! They're most known for the SA Dog; bacon wrapped, glazed Bleu Cheese sauce, with bacon bits... and it definitely is something worth a try! Great deal if you get the combo with house kettle chips or fries, comes with a drink too. I will certainly be back to try other dogs!

  This place was awesome!! The dogs were so freaking good!!! It's hard to find good onion rings but these were excellent! Oh and if you happen the be lucky enough to go in on a day they have the Reuben egg rolls DO NOT pass on them...you will regret it because they were out of this world!!! The staff was super sweet and attentive and the place was clean!!! The only downside is parking...there isn't much of it, but if you wait around for there to be a spot, you will not be sorry!!

  Decent hot dogs, fair prices for a specialty shop. The menu selection has a good variety of hot dogs, prepared as they should be for their region. I ordered the Chicago dog, known for being loaded with vegetables. My friend ordered the bratwurst with spicy mustard. Whats nice is this place serves beer as well. So if your looking for a hot dog and some beer this is a good place to visit. As far as pricing goes, its not cheap, but priced fair. Ingredients seem to be a step above your average place, but on par with some of the hot dog food carts in large downtown cities. Will probably return to try another item in the future.
