    Wait was an hour. One person working counter. Speaking with others in line long waits on Saturday are the norm. So is one person working the counter. Was also told the counter suffers from mechanical/computer issues that have been reported to management but not fixed.

    Would never rent from here again...my card was charged an amount MUCH different than what I was quoted online and at the counter...good luck with customer service...no help at all !!!!

    The reservation went great. I picked it up early on a Thursday afternoon. Was offered and upgrade for just $10. I took the rental agent up on the over(best decision ever). The customer service during my visit was stellar. The entire process took maybe 5 minutes. I will be renting again from this company and sharing the great experience with my friends!

    Rented a car 10/18 reserved through the American Airlines website. Thought I was renting from Avis or Budget. Wish I had. I will never rent from Payless again, not ever! If it were possible to give NO stars, I would. Waited 45 minutes to get a car assigned and delivered to me by the rental desk. Avis preferred wouldn't handle it. The vehicle had numerous scratches on the hood and driver side door to say nothing of the 35000 miles on the odometer. I drove only about 26 miles and filled the tank with 6.6 gallons of gas or 3.9 mpg. Either the tank was not full when I picked up the car or this Kia SUV gets the worst gas mileage ever. The check-in attendant could not close out the rental or give me a receipt so I had to go back downstairs to the rental desk before going to catch my flight. I was almost late. The agent at the Payless desk couldn't care less about the inability to close out the rental or the poor gas mileage. And the clerk at pickup in the morning was worse. While waiting for the assignment of my vehicle, she played with her cell phone ignoring me for the most part and seemed to take offense at my eventual impatience with the wait. Don't rent from Payless if you can avoid it. I won't again, not ever! Worst car rental experience I have ever had. I'd rather take a public bus. David Gilmore

    TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, FRAUDULANT CHARGES TO CREDIT CARD, WORST RENTAL CAR COMPANY I'VE EVER USED. I rented a car through Payless from 13-15SEP17 at Reagan International Airport. I returned the vehicle at 4am on 15SEP with a tank full of gas. Because I returned the vehicle before any customer service reps were working (I think they start at 6am or 7am), I did not receive an invoice at the time I dropped off the vehicle. Although the estimated cost for the vehicle was $164, they actually charged me $195.31. Although I have called 8 times and requested an invoice, this company has still not sent me an invoice. I travel at least one time a month for the past 10 years. I have NEVER experienced a situation where I had to HUNT down an invoice for a charge that a company made to a credit card. It is not professional or ethical, and depending upon the time with which you choose to finally satisfy the simple request for an itemized invoice, illegal for you not to provide. I have been on the phone with 8 customer service reps, all who take my email address and rental agreement number down, and state that an invoice will be sent shortly. 24 hours later and 8 wasted calls with this terrible company and I still have not received an invoice. Not only do I need to review to see why they overcharged me, but I also need it submit since it was travel for work.
