I arrived at Orange Theory over twenty minutes before my class, and they would not let me participate because I was too late. In few words, this is absolutely ridiculous and I would not recommend anyone supporting this business.

I have not taken a class at OrangeTheory, and never will because I've didn't even need a workout to already have a negative experience. I just moved to the city of Houston and decided to try OrangeTheory. My fiance and I are very fit and have done countless similar classes in our hometown. We arrived for our first class 22 minutes prior to the start time, but were told we were "too late" to join the class. We were instructed to arrive 30 minutes early to do paperwork and get started (EVERY boutique workout studio asks you to arrive early but is not clocking you minute by minute), but it was not clear that by being 22 minutes early, (EARLY!) we would not be allowed to participate. This is due to a corporate policy, but frankly, that is a ridiculous policy, and I refuse to patronize a company with such petty rules. Sorry that we are new to the city, slightly misestimated timing and couldn't see your studio at first from the side of the road, so we weren't exactly on time (EARLY). 22 minutes should be plenty of time to sign waivers, put on a heart rate monitor, meet some coach and be told about a workout format. Personnel was not rude, but I would not recommend OrangeTheory based on these policies. Luckily, Houston has many comparable options that will gladly welcome our business.

If you have never been to Orange Theory, you should go - it is a great five star workout. I had a bad experience at this location (rude staff) and I originally rated this location lower. The manager contacted me. When she found out about my experience, she did a great job resolving it.

BUYER BEWARE!  Do NOT join OTF if you have to travel on a freeway in Houston.  I've been a member for two years, go faithfully every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 pm (which scheduling is a whole other major problem with this place) and get turned away when I am one minute past their ridiculous 5 minute late policy!  I called in advance and was told they were aware of the major accident on I-10 but they couldn't bend on the policy.  I tried anyway since I was almost there.  They say it is for my safety as I haven't warmed up enough if I'm past 5 minutes.....bull.......I'm a 46 year old woman who has worked out my entire adult life.  I know what I can and can't do.  Then they say it's because I will disrupt the class because the instructor has already given instruction and they will have to give me individual attention to explain what I have missed.  That is laughable!  I've done every work out they have over the last two years.  I can jump in and catch up without any help and even if they did, really 15 seconds of filling me in is disrupting the class?!  New people are confused all the time and have to get "individual attention".  I'm an adult who is paying $159 a month to patronize the establishment.  And to add insult to injury, I just upgraded my membership to unlimited and got my husband to join who emailed last week about upgrading his membership.  Between the two of us, we will be paying this establishment over $300 a month and this is the way I am treated.  ONE minute!  Not five, not ten, not thirty!  If a manager doesn't have the ability or common sense to override this pathetic business practice, no wonder no one wants to work there.  The turnover behind the desk is outrageous.  They have "mistakenly" forgotten to book classes for me on several occasions over the years, their booking app is down often, the heart rate monitors don't work well, but I roll with it because I like the work out.  Not anymore!  I'm out.  They obviously do not value their customers and think they can fill the spot with the next sucker.  One day OTF won't be the newest fade on the market and then they will want the loyal customers they screwed over back.   Disgruntled, Robin Sample

First time going was yesterday. My class started at 10:45 and I was told to be there 30 minutes before class to get registered. I walked in the door at 10:19 to be advised I could not participate in class because I did not arrive 30 minutes before the class!!!! I was 4 minutes later than 10:15. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude to me! I filled out the paperwork and she realized how angry and upset I was and tried to make it up by saying you can do the class at 12PM. She than explained it takes a while to get set up due to the fact they due the heart beat set up etc etc. After leaving this location I tried to call the other Orange Theory Fitness places in town to go elsewhere to see if I would be treated differently however they were fully booked up. So I drove back to this location reluctantly and was greeted by someone completely different and she was very nice and welcoming. The heart beat set up and explaining everything literally took 5 minutes, the girl who originally greeted me was either lazy or just couldn't be bothered working it felt like as it definitely wasn't a 30 minute registration more like 10-15 minutes. The actual class and trainer Noel was great! I really wish I was just treated nicely and respectfully as I am still debating whether or not I want to sign up with this company due to how rude the girl at the front desk was to me. She shouldn't be there to deal with customers as she definitely doesn't know how to do customer service properly.
