I have had two unsatisfactory experiences in this store downtown Denver. My 1st experience (actually both) were with the "Operational Manager" Robert. On the 1st interaction, I went in to pick up my notary stamp that I had ordered a month earlier. As promised, no one called to advise that the stamp had arrived, not a big deal, I deiced to just drop in to check the status of my order. The operational manager, acts like he his looking for my stamp and blames the other workers for not leaving him a note to where he can find the orders. With all of his non customer service emotion he tells me I need to come back later....NO problem, I only work a block away. Now with this experience I did feel that as the "manager" you should know where things are in the store. But no problem. **I did go back that after noon and the worker went right to where the orders are kept and gave me my notary stamp that had been in the store for a week** Still no problem... I go in today to purchase some head phones and the Operational Manager is there again....So I ask him if he now knows where the stamps are kept for when some one is picking up there order.... He again says he does not know like 10 times and continues to ring my order up...the look on my face must say 1 million word because he asks me what is wrong..... I try to explain to him that as a Manager he should know where things are in his store...He again says that "someone" is supposed to leave him notes on where to find things...the night crew ( I guess). At this point he is pissed and I am confused because, I'm not mad....I was just looking for him to say "yeah" they are kept over here...but instead he says he doesn't know 10 more time.... My issue is simple and I can only speak to if I was an operational manager to a busy downtown location. I would never want the customer to have to come back twice for their merchandise. If I did not know something the 1st time, I would surely make sure to know the next time. But my story does not end there....I forget my keys on the counter and have to go back into the store to get them.... This man is talking very badly about me...calling me all types of unprofessional racist names... I retrieve my keys and exit the store...I really hope this review assist others that may have to visit this store in the mornings...do not expect any service if you have to deal with Robert the Operational Manager... The one star rating is due to that the other worker in the store were nice and appeared to be doing there job...

I like this Office Depot because of it's convenience however I think it's smaller because of the location(being downtown), therefore they don't always have everything that I need. The service is sometimes exceptionally great, and sometimes the girls at the front need to learn how to smile and be kinder.

I went into this store the other day with a coworker to make a purchase. We had to wait because their system was down. Tanner was amazing! He went up and beyond to help us out. I will definitely go back to this store because of him. Great job!!

Well this is a shame but I am rather disappointed with it recently. There used to be quality service here and an air of friendliness walking in but lately I've notice that change. They no longer let you test certain products even minimally and ones that are necessary to test such as the bluetooth speakers they advertise on display. I don't understand whats wrong with a quick and small test of the product. All they say is that I should just get it cause its "bigger and should have more bass" then the one I have. The staff don't seem as friendly as the old ones about a year or two ago and the guy there didn't even know what basic RCA cables were until I showed them online on my phone. Their stock has also dropped in quality while the price increased in terms of computers. When purchasing a new battery for my laptop the prices are beyond ridiculous and would be in the hundreds vs getting the same battery on Amazon for around 20 bucks. Overall there are many more reasons to avoid this place and go to Best Buy over it. This is an issue with all Office Depots lately unfortunately but especially on the mall as their competitor (Radioshack) is now gone. They lost a loyal and good customer here. Again, take my advice and go the extra mile to get to Best Buy if you have the option.

I bought a computer chair here and purchased assembly for an additional $12. I was informed that something went wrong with the sales processor and my debit card, and I was told that I would have to come back to the store to run my card again. The second time, the clerk forgot to include the assembly in my order. A delivery man came to my home and dropped the unassembled chair off in a box. He told me he couldn't assemble the chair. I opened the box, tried the assembly myself, and could only complete half of the assembly as the instructions weren't clear and the bolts included in the set weren't very secure. I called the store and was told to call the main Office Depot line. I was told to call the contracted assembly company directly, and they told me assembly would cost $60. I returned to this store and explained my situation to the staff. I was told that the chair could not be assembled for a week and it would cost $60 because it was an in-home assembly. Frustrated, I explained that this happened through employee incompetence, and the clerk very generously credited my card with $35 cash, and so it turns out that assembly will only cost $25 after all. I am glad that this situation was resolved fairly. I am deducting two stars for employee incompetence and wasting my time, but I will give 3 for a fair resolution.
