I visited on a Wednesday at 4pm so I'm not sure I got the best experience. There were 5 patrons and my party made up more than half of them. I don't like the overly loud bars but I'm not partial to being the only one in the bar. I'll have to come back later to write a more complete review. Food was good. Decent range of beers on tap. Courteous staff. The decorations and environment was a bit too rustic to my taste but it was far from unpleasant.

I've been here twice, first time was a Saturday night and the service was great no issues. The second time I went with a group of six guys on a Thursday night and the service was terrible. I made a reservation a week in advance on open table upon arrival they had no record of my reservation despite multiple email confirmations from open table. No hostess on duty, waitress was extremely slow, drinks took forever to arrive, entrees arrived sporadically. By the end of the meal we were so disgusted with the service we asked for the bill and left. We would have spent twice the amount on drinks and ordered dessert if the server, bartender and whoever was supposed to be managing the restaurant was competent.

Had a very good experience there. The East L.A. nachos were very tasty. The chunks of meat were tasty and tender. The IPA was fresh. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Love the food and atmosphere and always support local business, but the service Is lacking. This the third time my husband and I have had dinner. We have intentionally gone to early Saturday dinners (approx 4:30-5:00) because of the crowds. Every time we have seated ourselves and after ordering, we don’t see our server. We have had to ask any server passing either for another cocktail or dessert. Tonight my husband received his beer 10 minutes before mine even though we ordered at the same time. When it was brought to the servers attention she rolled her eyes. Plus, at the end of the dinner tossed the bill on the table without any request for dessert, etc. Although this server was Leann, this was not the server we have had in the past, but have had similar non-responsive service. Understanding the environment is portraying an edgy non-conforming atmosphere, there is still work ethic and expect a certain amount of respect, customer service. Three strikes you’re out.

I recommend this public house but with qualifications. On weekends this place can be noisy for dinner. Friday at 7:30 a live band shows and sometimes other days of the week. Conversations can be difficult when this house is full. Friday night, especially is noisy, due to so many people. Saturday brunch, we found is way more tame. The servers are very, very good. The menu is a bit broad beyond Irish and offers a few surprises such as bone marrow and corn bread, which a member of our party valued as good. I do not recommend steak and eggs as the steak seemed below select quality. We had an off the menu special sea bass which was very good. A friend loved the French onion mac and cheese. My daughter had the cheeseburger and loved it. The bar has a LOT of different whiskey.
