Review by WoodleyParker is lacking context and wrongfully accuses Ben Van Drunen of lying. I know for a fact that Ben Van Drunen had prior knowledge of the cuisine and offerings. His connection the the organization made his review reputable and, quite frankly, the only review that matters. I don't like having to stand up for others, but I will always stand up for Justice!

Place is extremely cute, chic and homey. Expensive, but to be expected for the location. We ordered bruschetta, arranchini, pizza, and 3 pastas. Everything is pretty good, but the spaghetti verde is outstanding! Could have eaten 3x the portion provided..

Prior review by Ben Van Drunen is false and dishonest, since it was written a month ago before the restaurant ever opened -- since the restaurant is scheduled to open today - May 18 - at 11am. I am giving it 5 stars based on looks and the friendliness of the staff I have met as I have poked my head in and asked questions numerous times during the past few weeks, since I am very much looking forward to having this place join the other restaurants at The Wharf. Raining today,or I would try to have lunch there when it opens -- but my plan is to eat there next week on a non-rain day. By the way, based on the other restaurants owned and operated by the owners and chefs who will run Lupo Marino, it's guaranteed to be a great addition to DC dining! ------------------updating May 23, after my first lunch at Lupo Marino, and my 5 star "advance rating" stands! The restaurant is so new that it is still working out a few kinks (for example, I was served the wrong salad, but that mistake was corrected). However, food was great. I did a "make your own pizza," putting together classic margherita ingredients -- buffalo mozzerella, tomato sauce, and fresh basil -- with a salad and a glass of wine the waiter recommended as "perfect for lunch" (and he was right). I'll definitely be back!
