What a treasure to go too and explore. Wonderful place to take a family to learn about and the gold rush and have a hands on experience. It is free, nice gift shop, just a treasure tucked into Seattle.

A (100% free )National Park Museum right in Downtown Seattle?!?!...Yes Please! Really fun place to burn 60-90 mins while waiting for a ferry or before a game/match at the stadiums. Its a well kept secret so don't plan on any lines or crowds but remember to check out the 'wheel of fortune' and see if you were one of the lucky few that would've struck it rich!

Very nice little museum. Good place to learn about one of the most important events in early Seattle history. I played the computer game Yukon Trail a lot as a kid, so I thought it was pretty cool to find out more about the real life experiences of people heading north back then. It's not the kind of place where you'd plan a whole trip just to go there, but if you're in the area anyway (Pioneer Square, International District, football/baseball/soccer game), I definitely recommend stopping by.
