Lots of candy - some in bulk, some in packaging. Lots of stuff that's hard to find at a grocery or convenience store. Even some upscale candies available, good novelties for sharing with company.

My family and I have been coming to Katie's for years. Sadly it has gone down hill. The employee's are rude and uneducated about their product and store, and the candy is stale. The bulk candy, the gummies, the fruities, everything is stale, hard, and nasty. It's as if they ordered bulk/make bulk, and literally just funnel it to all their stores, I'm sure some of their candy would be way past the shelf life if there were expiration dates listed. Buy with caution, eat with more caution. They have these little sour balls in a dispense machine that require tubes to fill. They've been out of these tubes for SIX MONTHS, and every time I stop in, it's a different excuse or reason. I inquired about an empty nut, and the employee had no idea when it would be filled, or return to their store. As someone else stated, S&S on the Southside is probably about a 1/4th or 1/5th of the price, and fresh. Example: "Bulk Candy" from Katies is around $8 or $9 a pound. To get 2.5 Pounds of Fruities, it would be over $20. You can get a 2.3 pound of Fruites from S&S for $4.95, and they're fresh. The Fruities at Katies are almost impossible to chew. They really need to learn how to inventory, and train their employee's on being more friendly and knowledgeable.

Just about ANY kind of candy you can think of can be found at this store. Love the Pop Rocks. Prices are a bit on the high side, but it's the price you have to pay to get your favorite candy. It's a treat that's hard to beat.

I am highly disappointed in this candy shop. We used to always give it our business and then they replaced the delicious cotton candy hard candy that they had with a very nasty ice cream hard candy. We may return but it will only be to see if they bring back the beloved cotton candy hard candy. PLEASE BRING IT BACK.
