Soooooooo many roaches. Roaches, on roaches, on roaches. Everything else was fine, but I felt like they were straight up neglecting the roach problem entirely. I've never seen a hostel with that many bugs crawling around in gangs. If they would have left out a can of bug spray for me, I would have given them a higher rating. I stayed there for a week, and could have killed a lot more of the bugs, besides the ones that I was squashing with my sandal.

Chris was amazing and went out of his way to check thoroughly for something I lost. The people who checked me in were so kind and welcoming. I locked myself out of my room by accident and someone let me back into my room at midnight. I became friends with my roommates who are now travel buddies. Met lovely people in the kitchen during breakfast hours. I also enjoyed playing around on the piano. Great location as well!! Walkable to House of Blues which was perfect for me. Thank you for everything! Affordable and convenient!

Instead of Joshua Tree, I came to be with my friends at this hostel. We asked a reception dark hair lady to give us a hostel tour, and she said no. She was too much involved in her daughter who was on her phone and she was trying to find out the girl's whereabouts. We thought it was funny. We met a young man, James, who was happy, real kind and he was likable. He talked to us made it a point to ask us how we were and gave a lot of suggestions where to go in San Diego. He was everywhere in this hostel and treated it like his baby. Yea a big shout out to James hes our man. The hostel had good atmosphere. They offered a good breakfast. An oriental man gave me a strange look. He told me he was supervisor Chris' friend and they stayed the same room. He wanted to take me out on a date and told me Chris offered me a free night if I went out with them. His English was poor. This guy was young enough to be my son, and it all sounded like a joke to me. I was leaving next morning and I just thanked him. I said maybe next time I buy him a cup of coffee.

I love how its within walking distance of everything. It's close to the late night city life which is awesome. The staff is very friendly and will make sure your stay is most memorable. A tip of advice, especially during the fall and winter, make sure you close the window before you go to bed . It can get quite chilly.
