TOURIST TRAP. Food was good, nothing special. We felt rushed since the line was so long. Within 40 min of being seated we were served bread, drinks, appetizer, dinner, and given the check. Wait staff kept coming by as we were eating to ask if we were done or needed boxes. The main hostess was not friendly and there were boxes of food right next to the bathroom door. Not worth the wait. I’m sure there is better food and atmosphere elsewhere...

When I arrived at 1600 on a Saturday there were already about a dozen people in line and the doors weren't going to open for another 30 minutes. Giacomo's was suggested to me by a co-worker who insisted it was the best Italian food in Boston. I strongly suspect he was right. I would have waited another hour just to be seated in the tiny 30 person dining room. The smells wafting from the open kitchen as the chefs spun out amazing cuisine at a fever pitch were enough to drive to distraction anyone not already eating. If you eat at one place in Boston tonight, make this the place. You'll thank me later.

Such good authentic American-Italian. Our waiter was awesome. He gave us recommendations and was just real Italian. Orders come quickly and steaming. I got the special which was home-made fusilli with lobster and shrimp in the spicy version of the house special sauce. Calamari was epic, best I've had. My wife is a vegetarian and she got pumpkin ravioli which was so so good.

Oh Giacomo's you have won my heart. I've been to this location and their other location in the North End and the major difference between the two is whether you want to line up for 2.5 hours (North End location) or not. As much as I love the anticipation in waiting for delicious pasta, I opted for the Back Bay location this time around since they allow reservations and I had a large party. My group of 8 ALL loved their dish. From the calamari (the best I've had in a while -- the crunch factor was perfect, it was fresh, and the salsa dip they gave was the perfect pairing), the garlic bread, and my favourite go to order, linguine + clam + scampi, I was so satisfied, everyone was satisfied, and it did not break my bank. Whenever someone comes to visit Boston I always recommend Giacomo's because I think it's the best introduction to all the great Italian food Boston has to offer.

My dinner at Giacomo's was absolutely delicious! I ordered the lobster ravioli and it exceeded my expectations. It was rich, creamy, and so very flavorful. This restaurant has two Boston locations, and I visited the one located on Columbus Street. That location takes dinner reservations and I strongly recommend you make them. My friend and I had arrived 20 minutes prior to the restaurant opening at 5:00 pm and there was already a line waiting to get in. Fortunately, because we had made a 5:00 pm reservation, we were able to be seated immediately upon opening. The service was good, we were not rushed at all, and the food was excellent.
