::Flatrate moving lost household goods, damaged other, and did over $18,000 damage to our floors. Rather than stepping up and making it right, they left us no alternative but to sue. We tried negotiations, then hired an attorney, and finally had to sue. Despite losing in court and losing the appeal they still have failed to pay the judgement. This was a long distance move from San Francisco to DC. The mover who moved us was actually located in the Bronx. Currently the judge has issued a bench warrant for David L Giampietro, the COO for Flaterate in the Bronx. When I searched for him I find mine is not the only lawsuit against Mr. Giampietro and Flatrate. I would avoid using this company.

::Used them for a cross country move. Larry our salesman was great. Pickup was great. Problems started when their long distance Dept lied to us about where our belongings were. Two pieces of furniture (not even a year old) were damaged and despite us paying for the extended coverage, they refused to replace the item instead just paying for repair, which did not restore it to the condition they picked it up in. After they “closed” our claim, a check was never even sent (11 weeks after the claim was closed I’m still emailing them about it).
