Totally donated car to FJV well over a year ago and was recently notified by SDPD tht car was towed from local street and when ckeck was ran on it there was no new transfer no new registration new registration and no new insudance3. Never again. Is something illegally going on here? I dont live in the state anymore but they wete able to track me down. I saw it as a tax write'off and I would be helping a reputable local charity.. The car has come back to haunt me. Never again

The people holding this auction refuse to post basic information about the cars and trucks they are selling, simple things like the mileage and obvious mechanical defects. You have to call them and beg for the information and they often claim not to have it. So, you have to call back and keep after them. They act like you're putting them to a lot of extra trouble by asking a few simple questions, like whether it's a stick or automatic. Basically, they want you to waste your time coming to there auction only to be disappointed that the car has extremely high mileage, has a engine knock, or worse. If other auction houses can provide basic info about vehicles, why can't they? How much trouble is to take a snapshot of the odometer and interior when photographing the car or truck? Father Joe's television commercials say they cut out the middle man, but if you examine the auto auction listings you'll notice that many are coded with the letter "C." This means they are consignment vehicles. The consignment vehicles aren't owned by Father Joe's anymore but they still appear on the site. The week before they appeared as regular auction vehicles but the dealer, or one of his dealer buddies, bought it at a bargain price and is now marking it up. The consignor is the middle man. The consignor can end up making more on the deal than the charity does. The consignor system also assures that no car will sell for too little. In other words, no bargains for the public. The consignment dealers or the operator's agent will bid on the car against you, acting as a shill. If they outbid you, they post it as a consignment vehicle the next week. The whole thing is rigged against the consumer. As a Catholic myself, I'm very sorry to see this happening. As a low-income person searching for a good low-priced car, I'm simply disgusted. Well, what's one more black mark against the church an its many minions, right? I strongly advise that you avoid this auction. I've given up trying to get info out of them because it takes up so much time.
