::Used to visit the old Etete regularly and thought it was the best Ethiopian food I'd ever had. This new style, while ambience is beautifully updated, lacks the deliciousness the old Etete had. The veggie platter (specifically the collards, cabbage, and peas) lacked spices and flavor. Even some of the peas were crunchy and undercooked. The lentils were okay, and the Awaze Tibs were decent, albeit not very spicy. The green lentil rolls (similar to sambusas) were disappointing and were not made better with the balsamic reduction. The only plus was the Ethiopian Mule, it was very good. As someone who visits numerous Ethiopian restaurants around the country and always considered Etete the best, I was highly disappointed and will have to find a new favorite DC Ethiopian restaurant.

::Food was good. The atmosphere and decor are beautiful. Service was poor. The server never came back after he took our order and got our drinks. We had to flag another server down for everything else that we needed. The first server said that the veggie platter is enough food for 2 people but it isn't.
