I went through different dental care providers online and found it really impressive how people praised the services and quality of Emeryville Dental Care. Most of these reviews talked about how Dr. Rose Magno is kind and has professionally great skills. After a few dental treatments, I wholeheartedly agree with these 5 star reviews as I will make one myself. Everything about Emeryville Dental Care is just amazing; you can text them anytime to book an appointment and they do respond. Dr. Magno explained everything before she proceeded with the mini dental implant treatment and it was relatively a painless experience. The office is very clean and observes every pandemic protocol. I highly recommend them.

A few weeks back, I visited Emeryville Dental Care to replace my rotting broken silver fillings for white fillings. I could not be more pleased with Dr Rose Magno’s services. My other fillings at the previous dental clinic had a few issues, so I wouldn’t dare go back. Dr Magno Took the time to explain to me every details of my teeth. She was also able to completely numb me as opposed to all my other dentists could not numb me at all or they could only partially numb me. Thank God I choose the place. The entire process, from beginning to end, made me feel relaxed and composed

I was not satisfied with my smile and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Rose Magno. Dr. Rose Magno is the leading cosmetic dentist, and her professionalism and her gorgeous work proves that. With her highly customized treatment procedures, I can now smile confidently. However, what appealed to me the most was the same-day implant and crown placement. In the future, I will always recommend Dr. Rose Magno to my associates and friends.

Dr Magno is overwhelming to work with. I do not recommend her to anyone looking for a culturally competent, no-fuss, gentle care dentist. I visited her clinic for the first time in March after glimpsing her 4 star ratings on Google. This was my first mistake: Always dig through ratings and x-check Yelp. Dr Magno is a skilled professional. I don’t believe that any dentistry-related advice she gave me was factually incorrect. She operates out of an “abundance of caution” and likely caters to clients who will spend as much $$ as needed, because things could get worse. It just wasn’t for me. This review is specifically about her utter lack of cultural competence, her heavy handed painful cleaning, and her style of underhanded bullying — pushing you to decide immediately (in person with me) and online (her responses to detractor reviews, SO unprofessional 🚩🚩🚩). Before she comes for me in the comments, some facts: - I was an ideal patient, agreeable, pleasant, but 5 mins late - I was NOT on MediCal (I have private insurance) - I paid the entire $320 copay on my CC for an exam, panoramic X-ray, and cleaning (Total $660). 🤯 Red flags: 1. Dr Magno didn’t explain the core reason for the high copay: her expensive services. Instead, she said it was all in the paperwork but also that explaining insurance coverage wasnt her job (I knew my insurance covers at least 80% like many other reviewers, but I felt tongue-tied so accepted it. She also said I can contact my insurance company for a refund but that’s a whole other headache. So be forewarned.) 2. Her assistant called out that day so she was manning the front office. Apparently, someone in the assistant’s family was sick/passed away (I’ve now forgotten) but Dr Magno sort of brushed it aside as if it was an excuse. This should’ve told me about her lack of empathy and understanding. 3. (TW) While filling paperwork, I made small talk about how difficult COVID might have been on the practice but was told about someone who suffered excruciating tooth pain and ended up unaliving themselves. I gently suggested it was a difficult time and she wouldn’t be wrong to protect her own health and safety, then was shown a “Jesus is my boss” cap. I get that’s how she navigates the world and finds purpose, but it felt unnecessary/weird. 4. She did not take Bitewings, instead did a panoramic X-ray. The next dentist I saw was surprised at this decision. 5. Lots of cavities were identified, but also, she pointed out jaw grinding and receding enamel issues and made it seem like it was really bad and needed immediate attention. 6. Did a regular cleaning, but whoa, I’ve never had a cleaning hurt so much. My teeth and gums were sore for two days after. I felt pressured to make choices the entire time, even though I just wanted to leave. I found myself shaking after the session, and immediately called friends asking for new recommendations. The next dentist I visited gently walked me through all my notes from Dr Magno, reassured me that my issues were manageable, and encouraged me to try two low-cost, preventative measures first before taking any other major steps. I feel supported, listened to, and respected at my new dentist. She knows her field; there was no negligence in her consult, but she has an intimidating bedside manner and might lash out at me in a long reply. I’ve seen her do this to so many others. This type of retaliation is not okay, Dr Magno.

Please do your homework before you go to this office. We called this office and Dr. Magno told us she can accepted our insurance so we made the appointment for our daughter. But later on we found out she is not in our insurance network and she also charged $660 for just regular teeth cleaning. We called several times but she never/won’t answered call, she only asked us email to her if we have any problems. Now she said she told us she does not accept our insurance then why we still want to use her and pay so much ? My husband and I made that call and clearly she said she accepted that is why we booked the appointment, there are so many good dentist why we want to pay $660 just for regular teeth cleaning? Later on she told us we still owe her money so I sent her a check, and now she called me Illegal alien for having not so American name , she also said people yelping is for dogs and she find that very funny. She maybe a good doctor with her skills but she should be honest to tell the customer upfront before customer go see her. She has tons of similar complaints on yelp and I guess she doesn’t care, cause there will always someone like me become the next victim. Please be aware of this office .
