I have used DK for decades. Not only is their work thorough, reliable and economical, but they are also good about telling me what work that I do not need or that can be deferred.

Thank God for DK !! The most honest and trustworthy mechanic ever. If it wasn't for them I would be constantly buying new cars...they have kept my car in great commission for 13 years...I always feel confident driving my older cars when I have had oil changes and work done. They treat you so kindly and treat you family...I would only have my cars cared for by DK Garage. No doubt!

See if this make sense. Whacky way to get new business/customers. It is a state law for gas stations to used oil. I have been at the DK Garage before for inspections and minor work before. I happened to have worked on two motorcycles I own, and had to dispose of the oil. So, I went to DK to dispose of it. I went in and politely asked if they take the oil, but knowing they are supposed to, but wanting to be cordial. The front woman told me abruptly, "dump it where you got the work done." Taken off guard, I said I did the work myself. So, she hassles me about not being a paying customer. I said I have had work done there before, and inspections, not that I needed to say this. She chastised me that it wasn't real work. She then went back and asked, I guess the owner, if they should take it. She came back disappointed saying it was state law that they did. She went on to tell me she has been there for six years and never saw me before. What? Huh? Okay, so times are tough, and I am sure local garages are having a hard time with car dealerships which force car owners to go in for dealership service in order to have the car warranties honored. So, I can see why the local business is looking for big ticket work. From a "Hey, we want more customers, so we should make every effort to encourage business every chance we get perspective;" it makes no sense to chastise a prospective customer. How would you expect someone to be a repeat customer if you burn them the second they walk in the door for simple request? If the latter is the way the front person treats customers, the only customers you will get are those who are towed there out of necessity, or broke down right in front of the place. Mind you, the mechanics/owner may do great work, but I am not going back to find out with the crazy hag at the front desk. Just a whacky way to do business.
