  I had my car to be picked up at 8am and I waited untill 10:30am to get my car which made me late for work. They had no cars available for me to take. Aside from me there were two other people who were waiting since 8:30 for their car.

  Made a reservation at 5pm today. I was told pickup would arrive at 5:15pm. Pickup arrived at 5:30pm Picked few others up and brought me back to the location at 5:45pm There was no one to attend until 6:00pm It is 6:20 now.. and I'm still waiting...

  Yvette runs this location herself. So maybe because she doesn't answer to anyone she feels she can treat people however she wants. It seems she comes in when she wants to. I live locally and made a reservation for our guests who were from another country. We waited about half an hour for her to arrive the morning we were picking up. As were several other people. She would not accept their credit card because the name was not printed on it. She was adamant that it is was a debit card, which it was not. She said, "I take credit cards from many countries, I used a credit card from Saudia Arabia the other day and their name was on it.... it's not my fault that you don't have a proper credit card, there's nothing I can do." She would not rent them the car and she was so rude about it. Beware if your name is not printed on the front of your card, she will not accept it. We finally left this location and rented from the Avis/Budget up the road in Farmingdale and had no problem using that same credit card. Before we left, we tried to make it work out. By changing the reservation to my name, so we could use my credit card, but she could only make a new reservation, which was $200 more than the price they had booked. I asked if she could help us with the price, she said, "I AM helping you, it's not my fault his name isn't on his credit card... You're making this take longer. I thought you said you had somewhere you need to be..." Her attitude was shocking. They would have preferred to walk to where they needed to go rather than rent a car from her. After wasting an hour and half trying to make it work, we left. We went to the Avis/Budget in Farmingdale (only about a mile away) and it was completely smooth. Great Customer service. It took 10 minutes, was half the price and no problem using their credit card. I highly recommend the Farmingdale location, even if you have to take a bus or a taxi to get there. It's worth it, they know what they're doing and know how to treat customers.

  This was flat out the best experience I have ever had renting a car and I have rented them often. Basically, my wife and I were having engine trouble with both of our cars and needed a rental since both had to stay in the service centers for a few days. From the service center, we made arrangements for a rental car with Avis over the phone and then were dropped off at the wrong Avis pick-up location, which supposed to be near Airport Plaza, but we ended up at the Hilton Hotel. We were obviously frustrated, with me needing to get back to work since I was doing all this on an "extended" lunch break ;). The Avis rep immediately recognized the situation and got us out of there with no hassle she also was very accommodating when we needed an extension and returning it was even easier. So Double Kudos and huge thank you to the Avis Hilton Hotel rep she was fantastically great :). And everyone who needs a rental car should be hopping in with Avis. Hum...that has a ring to it, "When you got to get a rental you need to hop in with Avis". "Hop in with AVIS" I like it :) and my rental experience ***** stars and one * more for good luck!$!

  For me, the facility on Broad Hollow Rd in Melville was ideally located. The rates were quite competitive. The car was excellent. But the standout performance goes to the staff. The only time I've had an equally helpful, friendly and welcoming experience from a car rental agency was when I rented from this same location two months earlier. In my book, this experience could not have been any better!
