  I wasn't paying attention the first time I walked in, I was thinking it was a pizza place. "Nope", the guy behind the counter said, adding, "we make the best cheese steak sandwiches". I lived in Philly for a few years, and I know my way around a good steak sandwich, so I said, "Sure, 'one, whiz, with'". I got a funny look, and then the guy handed me a menu. OK, I thought to myself, I'm in Northern California after all, and I can't expect them to know what that means. So, I looked at the menu, and thought the prices were a bit high, and then I saw the cook working the grill. He knew what he was doing, so I ordered a half cheese steak sandwich, with "the works". It took a while, they don't rush, but they sure don't disappoint either. The sandwich tasted great. It's a nice touch that they have jars of peppers on the counter for customers to help themselves, just like back in Roxborough.

  First time here. Ordered a Chicken California - no bacon, no avo, no tomatoes - with a small fry & drink. Waited 20 minutes for my to-go order. Get home to find that it has bacon & avocado in it. They only remembered to take out the tomato. So much for dinner. I can't even try a bite of the sandwich because I can't eat pork & have a sensitivity to avocado. While the staff was nice enough, it would have been great if I didn't just pay $21 (w/ tip) to sit & wait for a soda & soggy fries. Called them to let them know. I got a "Sorry, ma'am. Won't happen again." No attempt to fix nor recover. #FAIL

  I am hooked on this menu. With René, and Bill at the helm of the place there is always going to be quality food and friendly people who are there to make your visit make you want to have more.. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  First time here. We stumbled across this place when the movie we wanted to see was sold out. What a find! I loved the steak and Hoagie place back in our home town of Ventura county. This place did not disappoint. We had the 12" meatball sandwich. The bread was fresh and the marinara and cheese had great flavor. The meatballs could have used a little more seasoning, which is why I only have four stars. They have a huge selection (including cheese fries) and We will definitely be going back for a steak and Hoagie. I expect we'll be giving this 5 starts after our next visit.

  The Works cheesesteak is everything I hoped for. Generous portions, chewy bread, this was a forking sandwich. I barely completed the challenge with 4 mins to spare (24 in “the works” in 1 hour). It’s a bit out of the way, but worth finding. Yeah, I’ll be coming back.
