    The rental expireance was good. After the 1 year lease we were told the home owners wanted to move back in. The moving out was horrible. We used the cleaners throught 5 star rentals. The ones that *gaurantee* the cleaning. We were told it would be a little over $300. After we paid 1 bill of $252, we had to pay another of $245. Then we got the clearing paperwork and it is charging us $245 for the cleaning, $108.49 to clean the carpet and $170.49 to clean the tile. AND the company says we still owe $119.72. How does thier cleaning company gaurantee this we we are paying 3 times the amout we were told? We are also being charged $160 for touch up paint. But the touch up paint is still in the house from when we moved in! So we are being charged for something already there? This place is not worth the hassle. When I spoke with them they can’t find all the payments I made, told me the $245 cleaning fee is just for cleaning and doesn’t include the carpet cleaning or tile cleaning. So the total cleaning is over $523. What happened to gauranteed cleaning? They are charging us for damages prior to us moving in. They are either trying to rip us off or they have no idea what they are doing.

    It seems as if the real estate side of this company is wonderful, but from first hand experience the rental side is awful. It started off with us moving into the home where the assistant stated she had cleaned it personally. The house had food splatters all over the cabinets and dirt in the air filter, the toilets were disgusting and the garage door opener didnt work. I dont mind cleaning, so I fixed it. The assistant forgot to leave the damage papers behind and we did not receive them for a week after we moved in. Now, I am being medically separated from the Army, and they won't let me out of my lease because the military clause doesn't specifically state my type of discharge. I spoke to a legal representative on post and they said I was covered under SCRA but Daniel refuses to listen. I keep trying to contact him and he ignores my texts, calls and never responds in an appropriate time. The assistants are useless and know nothing leaving Daniel as the only knowledgeable individual. I leave tomorrow and haven't received any word on if I'm out of my lease, what the security deposit situation is and he wants to charge a 50% "reletting fee" when I know I am covered under SCRA to receive everything back, minus any property damages. I hate being a pain, but this has been one of the absolute worst experiences renting I have ever had.

    By far the most horrible rental experience.. ever. We are military and so we rent everywhere we go but we like to find nice homes. Recently, we found a home that was unfortunately listed with 5 Star. We love the house but quickly discovered "5 Star" provides mediocre 1 star service. First, the house was filthy when we moved in. I don't mean dusty blinds and a dirty oven, I mean food splattered on the walls, urine leaking down the outside of the toilets and used personal hygiene products in the bathroom drawers. I have never been more disgusted but I looked past the filth because the home is actually nice and well maintained. Second, I noticed right away and submitted a work request for a faulty front door lock. The locking mechanism functions fine but the wood frame where the strike plate seems to have been replaced multiple times has been hollowed out and does not properly anchor the lock. 5 Star refused to properly fix the lock and so I requested an additional deadbolt be added to the door. In the state of Texas, all rental homes are required to have a keyless deadbolt on all exterior doors. Being this faulty lock is the only lock on the front door, I didn't feel it provided a comfortable level of security. Apparently, there is a cheat around the keyless deadbolt law by adding a clip to the existing lock and so they continue to refuse installing a new deadbolt. Third strike, after coming back from a 2-week Christmas leave, we discover a water pipe that must have been slowly leaking since we moved in (4 weeks ago) and eventually soaked the floor in two rooms. Now instead of replacing the nasty smelling, probably molding carpet padding, they pointed a blower at it for a couple of days. Honestly, I feel bad for the homeowners for entrusting this nice house to 5 Star. I can only hope for minimal contact with this lazy, cheap property manager for the duration of our lease.
