Absolutely phenomenal! You have to go there. It's a Minneapolis Must Do. It was tough to get reservations, but boy was it worth the wait. THE BEST pizza. Great atmosphere and interior design. Our server was delightful. Just a really great experience and such a gem.

I loved this place. It is lively, crowded (reservations are really a must--we waited 2 hours on a Saturday night for bar seats), and absolutely stunning. There are so many different sections of the restaurant to visually explore while waiting for your table. The finishes are incredible. The pizzas were amazing, if a little extra (most had one two many toppings and felt busy to me), and it's fun to watch the cooks send the pizzas in and out of the oven. Highly recommended, just plan your visit in advance!

I felt that this place was a bit overrated. We went early to ensure we got a table. Unfortunately we got stuck behind the hostess stand on the far end so that kind of soured the experience because we were no where near the cool stuff. We were disconnected from the people making the pizza. Half of the fun is watching them make the pies. The appetizers were not worth the $15 or $16 dollars. I recommend skipping them altogether. We tried the short ribs and prawns...While both were tasty, they just fell short. The ribs were tiny with a lot of inedible bits d/t cartilage. Prawns were nice and meaty, but there were only 4 on a plate. Pizza was a quality pie with a good crust that was not soggy. If I went back, I would skip the restaurant and go directly to the speakeasy (it's accessed from the outside on the side of the building). They do serve pizza in there as well (although I think the menu is abbreviated), specialty cocktails and it has a cool vibe, much more casual with less rich yuppie looking people. The best thing I had there was probably the Moscow mule. It's not sickeningly sweet, seriously good. Honorable mention goes to the old fashioned.

This place is top notch. If the wait is a little long, swing around to the alley in the back. If the red light is on, the speakeasy is open! Swing in for a top notch cocktail. Don't worry if you don't finish in time, they can bring it to your table for you. As for Young Joni, you MUST get the cauliflower side. It is amazing, and truly something to enjoy. The pizza is amazing, with perfectly prepared toppings and a delightful crust, with just the right crunch. A must try if you are in Minneapolis.

Young Joni is a hip spot in Minneapolis' North East neighborhood. The restaurant is in a warehouse that is quite open and is styled in a contemporary industrial decor. The food was fresh and unique but value was not there. The restaurant is set up for small shareable items and you should expect to pay ~ $40 per person for a beer and a pizza. The staff is nice and friendly. The place is almost always busy so expect 10 to 30 minutes for a table. Much of the seating is either wooden square pub tables or bar style seating. Due to how open the environment is it is quite loud inside and is better for groups than a quiet date. Overall the experience was alright but on a value and comfort basis I struggle to give it more than 3 stars.
