  NY Law requires Yorktown Auto Tech to accepted used oil without a charge. Gary asked me to pay $2 per gallon to recycle my used engine oil. The law requires Auto Tech to recycle used oil free of charge. This is violation of Chapter 6 of NYCRR 374-2.3F and the Department of Environmental Conservation Article 23 Title 23. According to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation: Under Article 23, Title 23 of the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL), any service establishment that sells at least 500 gallons per year of new oil and performs vehicle servicing must accept from the public at no charge up to 5 gallons of used oil per person per day. These laws exist to protect the environment and not for Auto Tech to make quick profit. Shame on you!!!

  I have to give a big shout out to Yorktown Auto Tech on front street. I have had many positive experiences with them over the years and today they really showed what good customer service is all about. Not only did they treat me with respect (as a woman I have had experience with mechanics being condescending). They serviced my car quickly and didn't charge me for the diagnostic work that I requested. They very easily could have told me I needed additional repairs and given the busy time of year I would never have questioned. It is so nice to have a auto repair shop that we know will be honest with us!

  We recently brought our aging car to Yorktown Auto Tech with a long list of items for Gary to look at. After checking the car out, he told us that everything looked fine. He could easily have told us that we needed a ton of work and we would have not known better. Our whole family has been bringing our cars to Gary for many years. He always has them done when he says and is a pleasure to deal with. We are very happy to have an auto repair shop that we can trust!
