This is a very nice and quaint spot. The space is open, inviting, and the servers are very nice and happy to strike up a conversation. You can go on your own or with friends and read the book the menu is attached to, and feel at peace. Although it doesn't serve the standard/average drinks in other bars, it still offers a wonderful selection. The food is great too.

Very cool three level bar with a library theme. Menus are in books and decor is fun. We had the when in drag, coco loco, we three queens and all my lovers. All very unique and tasty drinks

Fun little bar with signature cocktails. It has 3 stories that are all library/book themed but each floor has its own personality too. The first floor has a larger bar with traditional stool seating. The second floor is a bit more comfortable and intimate, with booth seating. The third floor is a cozy little loft. We tried some fun drinks, like the non alcoholic seedlip drinks. Very unique and interesting!

I've been telling everyone how much I love Writer's Block, so I thought it was time to write a review. Atmosphere: Even though it's a cocktail bar, it has a chill non-pretentious vibe. It's small and relatively quiet, so it makes the perfect date spot, because you can actually have a conversation. Downstairs is a tiny bar, while upstairs is a lounge. As a designer, the design is always important to me. I usually judge a place on if they take the time to make the restrooms special, and here, they've wallpapered them in comic books! The rest of the decor is simple, and understated. Drinks: They have an extensive cocktail menu. My usual favorite is the Mymosa, but I've been branching out and recently tried the Wild Boy. The flavors are interesting and the names are fun too. Umm, they are strong too, so be prepared to be feeling incredible after 2 :) Food: I've never had their food, but they have a couple of options. I would probably eat first before coming here, but I think I'm going to try their deviled eggs next time. Hours: They close at 1am Service: Everyone that works there seems to love their job. They're always friendly and are proactive about suggesting refills Cost: $$ Bottom Line: You WILL impress your date with this hidden gem of a spot

We came here for the first time and tried to go upstairs and as we got upstairs there was a sign that said please wait to be seated. When the waiter showed up he told us there were no seats which I understand given it's Friday night and the place appeared busy. When we asked what the wait time is we we were literally told with major attitude to leave and come back later. While we were appalled, we kindly asked if there any people might be leaving soon and the waiter said no, they're all drinkers and again told us to leave and come later. 5 minutes later we saw 2 different parties leave and when we tried to go upstairs the waiter yelled at us from above waiving his hands saying "no seats for you." We went to Monk's Bar instead and had a great time. Don't bother coming here if they're full.
