  Awful Pastries. Compared to the Pastel de Natas in Lisbon and anywhere in NYC, the custard tarts and Pastel de natas here are a huge disappointment. I tried 5 different varieties of their pastries and all of them were uniformly mediocre. Overly sweet with not a hint of butter. YUCK. Avoid.

  Always a neighborhood favorite but now that I'm not In Somerville anymore, wherever I find their bread towns away, it's still just as good.

  This place is simply the best, most affordable bakery, I've ever been to. They have loafs of bread (wheat and white), rounds of bread, all types of rolls, a huge assortment of cookies, pastries (that vary every time I go), garlic bread, and pizza dough. Don't bother with the North End unless you want a cannoli, they don't sell those here.
