::Wartburg offers poor patient care. My father was there for 2 days and the staff never checked on him. On day 1, they failed to give him his morning medications. After I chased down a covering nurse for his floor, he finally received his evening medication. On day 2, he couldn't breathe and the staff wanted me to keep him there. After calling the ambulance, the paramedics rushed to give him steroids and an oxygen tank because he couldn't breathe and his bp was extremely high. Don't send your loved one to Wartburg.

::A once great assisted living and rehab maybe gone sour. The people who sell you on the place are not the people who take care of Mom. We found $11-dollar-an-hour, resentful, sometimes just plain mean care staff. No training for those not naturally kind and caring, although there are some of those superb people still there. Evasive and negligent nursing. Out of touch administration. We had to move out at age 92, no easy process.

::I actually worked with this place through a hospice company aiding the nurses a few years ago. This place is beautiful and the environment is awesome to the eyes. Unfortunately some of the nurses and aides who work for this place are ignorant and they shall reap what they sow. A patient who was sitting in the TV room and I was aiding at the time kept complaining about discomfort and saying that she wanted to go lie down because she was in pain. I explained this to her nurse SEVERAL TIMES. Her nurse seemed to become annoyed that I kept coming back to her with the info and decided to tell me that" she is only saying that so she could go in her bed, she can wait so she can fall asleep with the other patients" so she left her in her wheelchair. Moments later the patient still was complaining about pains and it was nothing I could do, I came to work under the nurses orders. Suddenly she became unresponsive in her wheelchair after calling out for saying "honey" to get attention repeatedly. Once I alerted the nurse, the nurse and aids all came running to the patient and the nurse told one of the aides to call her family but put her in the bed first. I was disgusted with them. They told me to go home. I called my job and told them what happened and they told me that the nursing home will handle it. I'm sure Wartburg is great, they just need to monitor their staff and let them understand that regardless of how well you feel you know it all, these people have feelings. She was my last case and I quit my job.

::Jaime was THE nicest and most diligent phone receptionist I have ever spoken with. If she's any reflection of the quality of this facility, it must be a first class experience.
