  The cashiers and security staff are always super friendly and the store is clean and well stocked.

  Store is 24 hours, but pharmacy is not. Edit- store is no longer 24 hours.

  Let me start off by saying that I came from south Florida to New Orleans, Louisiana, to get away from hurricane Irma. I stopped at the Walgreens because it was close to the air bnb that I was residing at with my husband and 2 young children. I found out that I needed quarters to use the washer and dryer here so a few days ago, I did go and ask if there was any possible way I can get some quarters. The young cashier asked how much I needed, and I explained to her that I understand she can't give me all of what was in her register, so whatever she could give me, she told me that she had a role in her draw and that she can give me the role if I had the 10 dollars I was very appreciative and gave her the 10 dollars and I purchased something and left. I had to return to Walgreens late Sunday night, realizing that I was in the process of continuing laundry and ran out of quarters.. Unfortunately, when I went back in there, there was an older woman who told me that she would not give me the 5 dollars in quarters I needed because they would have to go in the back and get it and she can give me 2 dollars. I asked her where else at 11 o'clock at night I can go get change and she told me that there was a supermarket open.. I went into winn dixie right before they were closing and the cashier happily gave me the 3 other dollars in quarters. I went back to continue my laundry and of course lucky for me, I left my change purse on top of the washer and dryer and when I realized it I ran back downstairs to where the washer and dryer were and of course it was not there I had to wake up my husband and explain to him what was happening, he helped me search our whole room, he even went downstairs, looked in the washer and dryer, and, of course, to no avail, there was no change purse. Unfortunately, I didn't know where else to go at 2 oclock in the morning so I said that I would try my luck again at Walgreens and speak to the manager if there was an issue. The manager refused to give me change and told me that there was another walgreens about 3 miles down the road and to try them, I even explained to them the hardship of my situation and he was very uncaring and very unkind. Luckily there was actually a gas station on my way to the other Walgreens where I was able to get my change. Even though I was kindly given a roll of quarters a few days ago by a completely different cashier at a different time of day to be treated like that by the same cashier twice in 3 hrs with an attitude who had no empathy for the situation it was very discouraging. I'm complaining because of how I was spoken to and how there was no empathy or kindness used in this situation. If I ever come back to New Orleans to visit, I will not bring my business to the Walgreens on canal street.

  This store is conveniently located in midcity. They always a great selection of items to choose from. The only drawback is the pharmacy isn't 24 hours.

  Store Manager is the best I've seen! Very charismatic and goes above and beyond!
