  I’m currently on the school counseling program. All my core classes are done. I being dealing back and forward with the field experience advisor since early August last year. Walden University wants the students to go out and find a counselor and will say yes to the practicum and internship, then that counselor needs to give you some information like, license number, resume and other things in order for you to submit the application but the process of Walden establishing a contact with the school district takes months. It is a very slow process. That at the end of the day means you won’t be graduating anytime soon. The advisors in the field experience side don’t have a actual phone number. They only have a voicemail number and email. Which is horrible! And yes you have to do 2 to 4 recidencies. They trying to change it now to Something else more like a Practicum but they will do it in the most expensive hotel and typically in a downtown area. And all the expenses are out if ur pocket meaning hotel, parking and food. My honest opinion is.... Walden University has Amazing profesor. Yes 1 or 2 need to be fired but overall their classes and proffesor are excellent. The bad part is when is time for your Practicum I wish it could be different where the University has ur back but pretty much u are on your own. Their advisors try to help but is not only you there is more students. It is a mess. If u want to do counseling just go to your local university don’t do it online.

  Falsely prepare the Family Nurse Practitioners for their National Exam. Recently graduated with my MSN and had a 3.9 GPA. I'm still not ready to take my boards. This rating is only to better their program. I spent most of my studies in research, writing papers, discussion posts with replies and taking out of date quizzes with no rationales or feedback. I'm stressing the importance and need to update your FNP curriculum. Students need access to a free live or online review post graduation and access to practice questions during the program.

  As an older adult learner with little experience in online learning, the support from Walden's IT staff, instructors and advisors has been exceptional! I have learned so much and will be graduating this year with my masters in nursing! I now feel prepared to go out and conquer my career goals. The curriculum is innovative and challenging! Communication regarding field experience ins and outs could be improved upon but they are working on this. I highly recommend Walden; their reputation in online adult learning has far exceeded my expectations.

  The communication with this school is unacceptable! The enrollment adviser seemed to be very genuine and even was willing to help me work out some communication issues with other departments, but as time has gone the issues get worse and worse. I have funds available waiting for disbursement, and yet the school puts a hold on my account? It has been nothing but babysitting them since enrollment and it is ridiculous. I highly recommend avoiding this place, it is incredibly unorganized. Also, every time you talk to someone in financial aid, you get a different story about what is going on with your account or what paperwork is needed- not sure what's going on, but it smells more and more like a scam.

  I am half way through my Masters degree in Family, Couple, and Marriage Counseling and I have had a positive experience at Walden University. I like online classes because they're flexible. The classes are demanding as in most graduate programs and there are many assignments to turn in per week, so they definitely keep you on your toes. Most of my professors have been knowledgeable and helpful. I did a lot of research before choosing this school and I have never regretted it. I recommend this school.
