Worst customs broker....i would not recommend this company to any one at all who is in the importing business. If i could i would give them a 0. Not only they overcharge for services, but they delay your shipment on purpose. After paying them over a thousand dollars for an import shipment including delivery charges, they sent me a bill for another fifty dollars some for examination fees and such, which i paid and the payment was confirmed by their company. This was a 250 lbs compressor that was being imported. Now, after receiving their payment, they dont inform you of the delivery of your shipment, so i called them to find out when will it be delivered now that they ripped me of more than eleven hundred dollars and their answer is " it will be delivered tomorrow" thats it no time frame or anything, so i asked them if there was time frame when it will be delivered, and the guy goes "umm ....anytime between 8 am to 6 pm". Even small restaurants give you a better time frame on when your food will be delivered. So i asked for a narrow window and i was told he will have to find out and let me know, a few minutes later he calls me back and tells me it will be delivered between 8 am and 12 pm. After spending 4 hours at my business waiting for the delivery, i told my employee that we are expecting a shipment and to inform me as soon as it comes, and i drove my pregnant wife to get lunch around the corner, and guess what the delivery truck shows up and starts unloading the crate from the truck in the middle of the parking lot where my customers park. When my employee noticed that a big crate was being unloaded from a truck, she picked up the phone and called me right away and i asked to speak to the driver to let him know where the crate was to be unloaded. The driver seemed like it was his first day on the job and didnt know how to park in the parking lot, so he just parked up horizontally taking up 4 parking spaces, when asking him to reverse park and unload the crate on the curb so it doesnt block the parking, he says he cant because he doesnt know how to lower the liftgate on the curb and was just having a bad attitude and being rude to my employee and with me over the phone and just hung up. In the past month i have had 4 different pieces of equipment bigger and heavier than this delivered to the same address. And all the trucking companies lowered the truck liftgate on to the curb successfully. So we rushed and left without having any lunch, when i arrived near my business, i could see a truck leaving the parking lot and a three thousand dollar piece of equipment sitting in the parking lot up for grabs for anyone. To avoid speaking to me, he had my employee sign the delivery papers and left. So we had to hire additional help to get that crate inside "my" property. On calling byrnes and co, they told me that they only deliver to my property and its my responsibilty to move it where i desire. A "parking lot" is not my property. Then i find out they dont even deliver, they contract some 3rd party company for delivery purposes. On speaking to the actually delivery company i find out that my shipment couldve actually arrived a day earlier but, byrnes and co. delayed the shipment on purpose because they were waiting for a confirmation of payment from me for $50 dollars after i had paid them more than $1000 already. They even confirmed that they received the $50 payment after i called them an hour later after making a deposit. So even if you pay them $50 on top of $1000 they will not deliver your items because they dont have a "confirmation". Worst people you could deal with for your import business. EDIT: this morning i receive a phone call from steve regarding this issue and his suggestion was to pay the delivery guy "5 or 10 bucks" and he couldve delivered the crate where ever i wanted to. I had no problem paying the delivery guy "5 or 10 bucks" after i spent more than a thousand already to their company, had he waited 5 extra minutes so i could speak to him.
