I came in to do some session work as a vocalist at Vitruvian Sound. Stephen was good-natured, efficient, and skilled and a joy to work with, I couldn't have imagined the session going smoother. The space was comfortable to work in and water and tea was readily available, which as a singer is always of course needed. :) Will definitely return/recommend to musician friends for their projects!

Feels productive and creative, no bad energy or stress. In knowledgeable and professional hands with Stephen. I hope to return. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants their music to sound the best it can and make it so in a fun and efficient environment.

This studio is great for overdubs, production, voice over, podcasts, and any little projects that you need done this is a great space! Very cozy feel in the NY Studio factory with all of the amenities that you're use to in a large studio (coffee, fridge, close to a bunch of restaurants, and it's 2 blocks from the L train). If you're looking to do something bigger with a full band the owner has some great connections to studios in the city including one invitation only studio that has an amazing Abby Road style live room, with vintage equipment and guitars, basses, and drums that will leave you drooling. To top that all of both the price of Vitruvian Sounds and the prices of the rooms in the owners network are astounding for what they are! I've been working with Stephen in recording studios for about a year now and he has been a great help in teaching me about the industry, equipment, and unique ways to approach recording. He is very straight forward, and always willing to hand out his knowledge, which can be a hard find in the music industry!

Stephen is an incredible sound mixer! He mixed the sound for my first ever short film, which is incredibly sound heavy, and did so with ease and the utmost professionalism. Stephen's ear is so fine-tuned and specific, and he improved on so many things that I hadn't even noticed. Our film has been greatly enhanced by his amazing work. Don't think twice and hire Stephen! Also, he's got LaCroix in the studio fridge. How clutch is that?

As the owner, I may be biased in my review of my studio space; instead, I'll use this as a place to describe the underlying philosophy of the studio's design: 1). The studio must be a flexible space to accommodate the various creative people of different disciplinary backgrounds and their audio services needs. 2). The studio must specifically tailor its bundled services to ensure that the diverse client base is satisfied with the price-point for their respective needs. 3). The studio must be comfortable without overly burdening the clientele with the cost of the 'accoutrements' of 'luxury studios'. 4). The studio must be accessible and actively part of the scene(s) in which its client base is derived. 5). The equipment must be of suitable quality to meet the needs of the clientele without burdening them with the mentality of a 'cork-sniffer' or 'purist'. 6). The rates and policies must be firm, but transparent so that the clientele can count on the reliability of the studio budgeting. 7). The atmosphere and personality of the studio (and the owner!) must be welcoming and professional in order to fully satisfy the needs of the clientele; fostering a sense of comfort beyond the surface level the physical. 8). The studio must strive to be a foundational hub for the further development of itself, the owner, and the client network in a mutually beneficial manner. I look forward to hearing from you all as I strive to achieve these goals. Stephen Kurpis - Founder, Owner, and Operator
