::Great doctor couldn't find a better one
Krystal Alquist
::My daughter has been seeing Dr. Varenhorst since she was 2 months old, he is the one who found her retinoblastoma. We absolutely love him and wound recommend him to everyone. The only reason i give them 4 stars is for the wait time while visiting the office. However, once he is in to visit you we have never once felt like he was rushing through (like we have had at other specialists). He takes his time and listens to the patient and family.

::They may have the knowledge but they sure don't care about anyone else's time. Expect to be here for HOURS if you need anything. Even with an appointment every time I come I'm seen two hours after my allotted time..I won't be returning. Finding a doctor more respectful of my time.

::I am not someone who usually reviews things, but our experience with this business has been terrible enough that I am going out of my way to share it. My mother has been loyally going to see Dr. Vahrenhorst for nearly 6 years now. She is happy with the care she receives from him and so she is able to overlook the sometimes 1.5hr-3hr waits for appointments, the sometimes abrupt and rude behavior of the staff, and how you used to have to wait 2 days for anyone to return your phone calls (that has improved greatly in the past year.) But what finally did us in was the billing. I am Mother's power of attorney. Mother has her faculties about her, but at 92 prefers to cede some issues to me. I had provided this office with the Power of Attorney paperwork, as well as having Mother sign the proper HIPAA forms, so that I may speak with the office. The problem became that every time thier completely inept billing section would commit an error, and I would call, I would have to speak with some supercilious snot who informed me that she didn't have to speak with me, as I wasn't the patient, and anyhow she really couldn't understand me because my accent is too thick. I have lived in the USA since I was 5; 60 years now. I couldn't speak with the manager, as supposedly there just isn't one. Patient care doesn't just start and stop when the doctor enters and exits the exam room, I am afraid. Racism, stupidity, ineptitude are not to be tolerated. Mother is now seeing another doctor in town, and we are both much happier with his services.
