::I can not express how wonderful it was to give birth here. This is my first baby so I was very nervous and did not know what to expect. we are also not from the area. From the start everyone I met was kind and thoughtful. I was very impressed with the care they take to make sure you are comfortable. The delivery was low stress. After delivery I was able to meet with several lactation consultants over my stay. They provided many resources and made us feel very confident taking our baby home.

::I can’t know for sure, but I’d be willing to bet this is the best or near best L&D unit in the country. This is based a lot on the people (facilities were not lacking though). The care team helped us manage expectations, was ready for any risks, allowed us to bond with the baby, and prepared us for the very scary first car ride home and beyond.

::My baby is due mid September and I was advised by my OBGYN from Kaiser to pick the hospital I would prefer to give birth at. I called and the first person I spoke with was very kind and transferred me to Labor and Delivery to answer my questions. The person in Labor and Delivery not only rushed to get me off the phone but I wanted to find information regarding a tour and she cut me off and said you need to call your provider and didn't seem to want to answer any other questions I had. I will pass this hospital if I can't even have my questions answered before I plan on giving birth at this place. Perhaps a better approach at answering the calls would be nice.

::I gave birth at Virginia Hospital Center last week and had a wonderful experience both in the labor & delivery and postpartum care wards. Our nurse, Lisa, on the first day of my labor was absolutely phenomenal. Due to COVID, my husband and I were not able to take in person parenting classes and were feeling very apprehensive about changing diapers and other basics. Luckily, Lisa found us a CPR baby and gave us lessons! She was so kind to us. All of the staff we came into contact with were extremely helpful, courteous, and knowledgable. We received excellent care at VHC and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to deliver there.

::Excellent L&D team and aftercare. I have delivered here both pregnancies and had an even better experience the second go round in terms of the staff/facilities/etc. I felt totally taken care of - and given that my husband was deathly ill and had to leave me there alone right after baby boy was born, it was nice to have friendly nurses, residents and MDs help me through the first few days. Would recommend!
