::As a lefty buying a guitar is hard, and I am almost always buying blind online. I recently purchased a vintage Martin D-35 L from Vintage Guitar and I was blown away by what I received, low action, good innovation, no fret buzz, balanced tone -- and the guitar booms. Mike was very helpful, and I am extremely happy with my transaction.

::I have bought a 1956 Gibson LG1 and a 1970 Gibson ES335 from them. The prices were fantastic and the guitars just perfect (much better deals than one would get in the vintage guitar shops on Manhattan). The owner Michael Rudes is a very competent and reliable dealer. If I buy another vintage guitar it will most likely be from them.

::The 1963 J 50 Gibson I purchased from Michael at the Vintage Guitar Gallery of Long Island was an absolutely outstanding great decision...one of those unusual times when you find just the right instrument being sold by an Honorable person. It just isn't a regular thing for me to even write a comment like this but...Michael helped me get a dream guitar. The guitar is beautiful to look at..in structurally perfect condition despite it's age.and sounds great...it has that deep sweet vintage mid range and a surprising amount of warmth, depth ,and projection.Michael's adverting comments proved utterly accurate...it also came expertly packed and very quickly..and he helped me choose the most sensible way to ship.I'm more of a player then a 'collector' but in this case what I got is in such amazing condition that it made me a collector overnight no matter how you define it.It's been irresistible for me to show people I play with, obviously, and others, the instrument and everybody's eyes have popped out a little or a lot .I took it to a lesson I had today and the teacher just said "O My ,O My,O My"when I opened the case. It shipped in the i original case and that's also in fine condition but I bought a modern case for added protection when i take it out to play. I live in Chicago but I'm sure if I was in New York I'd be In The Vintage Guitar Gallery a lot.Buying something as intimate as an instrument out of town without trying it first requires trust and it was overwhelmingly justified dealing with Vintage Guitar Gallery and Michael. .I guess you can tell I'm delighted with the whole situation. Anyway...Michael...Thanks! Tom
