  Painted by Regis-François Gignoux (1816-1882). This work is unusual for this artist in prominently featuring the evidence of mankind's presence. This work is also unlike many of his others in that it names the location in the title rather than simply call it another "Hudson River scene". This was a place worthy of being named specifically and having its degree of development detailed.
