::I just spent 6 weeks working out at Valhalla Athletics 3 times a week for their â6 Week Fitness Challengeâ â I had never tried Crossfit, and to be honest always associated it with people far beyond my fitness capabilities. To say I was hesitant would be an understatement. After meeting with Casey and Scinju I decided to go for it, they assured me that every exercise was scalable and that Valhalla was a place for anyone and everyone. The first workout was hard, and so were the next 17. Every time I thought I was getting better there was a new challenge. When someone asked about how Crossfit was going my answer was usually, âitâs humbling.â Despite feeling out of my element I continued to show up----every week I had to test my own limits and every week I did things I wouldnât have guessed I could do. I flipped tires, dragged sleds, ran with sledgehammers and bear crawled my way through the gym. I loved it. The coaches will make sure your form is correct before adding weight, and theyâre always happy to offer a modification for things you canât do. Theyâll never make you feel less than for needing to modify, and will cheer you on when you progress to new things. Itâs a pretty special community that theyâve built and I canât recommend giving it a try enough, youâll be glad you did!

::5 weeks in, and most of my WODs have been run by owner/coach Casey. Good programming. Most importantly, he was quick and on point with modifications based on the athletes' physical abilities or orthopedic limitations, which should always be a top concern when trying out a new box. 90/100
