::VA in Denver is understaffed. Could not get a dentist appt for 3 months, then out of the blue sky they call me that I have app coming up in a few days??? I told them I had to pay out of pocket for an root canal. So you don't need a dentist? sure, let me just drop the Dr. I am seeing now. Really. Eye glasses were another fiasco. 3 months to get a pair of glasses. Nothing to the VA is of any concern when it comes to the veteran. Instead of building this Taj Mahal, they should have built something more moderate and put the excess money into hiring more medical help and making their working environment more conducive to retain them. As I always say they change our doctors more often then we change our socks. If they could model themselves after hospital systems that do work. Did I mention MyHealthyVet? That in itself is a high stress factor for veterans

::I've tried to get registered into the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System 4 times. After being transferred back and forth between two different departments multiple times, the automated system hung up on me. This makes me want to "harm myself or others" or at the very least smash my laptop into many pieces. Don't trust anyone who tells you the VA is here for veterans. They make everything as difficult as possible and probably have a hand in causing more suicides than it prevents (that's probably not entirely accurate, but I'm trying to make a point). They will do everything in their power to diffuse the responsibility of veterans healthcare. I contracted Scarlet Fever as well as a variety of other health conditions IN AFGHANISTAN and was told it wasn't service related. "Begging to be called broken" is the best way I've heard it.

::This is one of the best VA hospitals Iāve ever been to due to its fairly new establishment which started receiving veteran patients last year from the old one located in Denver. The hallways are massive and lengthy, the customer service is much better considering how it was in the past, and the physicians are doing what is needed to care for their patients and showing empathy for their medical dilemmas. I am extremely satisfied with my current visits (knock on wood) and look forward to my continued healthcare with this beautiful facility. However, to schedule an appointment for something still is a major issue, youāre on hold for quite a while or if seeing a doctor here and they submit an order to get a CT scan for an example takes forever. Veterans with serious service connected issues needing immediate care should not be waiting for a lengthy period of time, no excuses. There needs to be a better system set in place to take immediate actions when orders or appointments are to be made.

::Iād give this a ZERO if I could!! Your phone service is horrible and full of employees that really donāt care about vets at all!! I called weekly for months trying to get my authorization re-upped to be seen out in the community healthcare system because my local VA clinic didnāt have a physician taking new patients... I wanted to continue to see my civilian dr...you said you āauthorizedā yet for months the drs office received NOTHING from you guys. I even gave the correct fax number the last two times!! I would call and be on hold for over an hour each time and just when I was next in line, your system would either bump me to the back of the line or hang up on me. Thank god when I called the actual VA to report your horrible service, they quickly assigned me to VA clinic dr who was willing to take me so I donāt have to deal with your poor service and laziness!!

::I would rate this with negative stars if Google would let me. Parking is atrocious, none of the staff knows where anything is. Fortunately nobody really seems willing to correct it. Their systems are not working right, so you were waiting an hour to be seen because they were busy, now it's because they don't know you are there. Make sure you don't go in the morning or evening or you will not beat the rush hour. Avoid at all costs, stay local if you can. If you absolutely have to go, check in with the volunteers who know more than staff. Take a sleeping bag or get a hotel to be safe. I spoke to roughly 15 veterans who had the same experience or worse...
