New owners just as nice as the previous owner. They stock all the must-haves.

This place used to be my favorite store to go to for a reasonably priced spirits… Until today. I went in there to get my Friday night special, a bottle of Menage a trois and Novecento to relax and unwind after a long week. Upon opening the bottle of Menage a Trois, and pouring a glass for a taste, I noticed something odd with the taste. I figured since I am a loyal patron of this neighborhood establishment, I would be able to return the bottle without any hassle in exchange for another. Upon walking in the store, I mention to the "guard" of the store, whom I saw two hours ago that the wine was bad and that I would like to exchange for another bottle of wine. The guy at the front counter, begins to behave in the typical ignorant manner and claim that he knows wine, its a blend and that they are a liquor store and don't do exchanges. Granted if that is your policy then fine, but this one particular bottle was bad and I poured the wine in multiple glasses to ensure that it was not the glass in particular that I drank from. It pains me to give these guys this review especially because I remember when they first opened the store up the street from this larger establishment. Everything was cramped, dusty and overwhelmed with the smell of dog but the old man, their prices and the fact that you didn't have to point to a bottle behind 8 inch glass and place your money under it was a reprieve to the usual neighborhood spots. I refuse to patronize this establishment or any like this that does not understand the basic principles of customer service. For a ten dollar bottle of wine, they could have easily stated their policy or simply exchanged in a polite and non-confrontational manner. I would suggest that any civilized persons in the neighborhood take their hard earned dollars elsewhere and stay far away from this establishment. If you are looking for a place that has good customer service and honors their loyal customers, check out Kings Plaza Liquor. Their wine selection is similar and the staff is helpful.
