::Rude customer service. USAA only works well if you give them 100 percent of your business. They claim to be great to military but are only effective if you don't shop around and give any portion of your checking, saving, or credit accounts to anyone else. If you do, they hold your money for 7 days and give the ridiculous reason of fraud protection, because theifs hack accounts to pay my bills, and they are nice enough to use the same account I have used for payment for 8 years to pay them. After 2 decades of doing business, I am still a number. I would not use this company if you are a person who shops around for the best rates.

::Horrible company, they send me emails every week about their military affiliate card and some special offers and after a few months i decided why not only to have my credit pulled and a auto decline for "max credit reached with usaa" WHAT? I only have 1 cc with a 6k limit??? Not to mention they had pulled my credit report 4 times in 5 months!!! If you call them you will get NO HELP they will try to immediately pawn it off to someone else just not to deal with it... I am going to close my accounts and will always let me friends know not to deal with USAA, i cant wait to close all my accounts with them i rather let Penfed get my business.

::The customer service representatives were unable to help in the midst of a documentation error from USAA itself. My husband and I had been approved for an auto loan over the phone. Documents were faxed to the auto dealership. All items were filled and faxed to the return number. The check used to pay for the car was guaranteed to be sent by Tues. Instead Thursday, after returning my husbands leased car we were told by the dealership that no payment was received. Immediately after we speaking with USAA and it was determined that the wrong documents were sent initially. The call ended in an email being sent to further educate their staff on policies and protocols. This place does not care for its customers because now my husband has to drive my car while i take public transportation from Queens to the Bronx. Thanks for not taking any liability with my husband having possibly taking a train from 3 am to arrive to work for 6 am for an elapse 50 miles. If anything your establishment should be educated an proper customer service.

::I always assumed I had "the best" insurance company until I needed it. My car was hit by a driver who ran a stop sign, and at first the agent was very helpful, even recommending a "better" collision shop that USAA was affiliated with. After 2 weeks of back and forth with USAA and the collision shop (each one blaming the other for the delay) I finally was able to have the car declared as totaled. Another week later and I'm still fighting with USAA to remove the totaled vehicle from my policy! It's been sitting in a junkyard for 3 weeks, I certainly don't want to pay for insurance on it! Then when I bought a new car, rather than graciously helping me transfer insurance coverage to it, a simple phone call turns into more time spent on hold than being helped :( This experience was terrible and I will be shopping around for a new insurance company for sure.
