This store is amazing! I love that the staff provides a friendly, comfortable and well educated experience in all things Wine, Beer & Spirits (and they now have a small selection of meats and cheeses, which makes my little Wino heart flutter!). That being said, as a fellow regular to the store for the last 2+ years, I am a little confused by the negative reviews. Asking for proof of legal age to drink is required by the state of Colorado (and literally everywhere else), which is also advertised before entering and prior to purchasing at this location. So to be baffled at the fact that someone who cares about the livelihood of their business and would prioritize following the law over acknowledging your ego, is quite frankly absurd. The owners, Dave and Kent, have gifted Uptown over the years with a fantastic shopping experience and an incredible staff. Don, Robbie, Wiley and Colin are some of the most attentive, caring and knowledgeable customer service professionals that I have ever come into contact with. I am so thankful to have such a reliable and trustworthy business in my community.

Boy I can't wait until this place goes out of business. As mentioned in other reviews, one would expect that a modicum of courtesy would be extended to locals who frequent this store and support the establishment. Instead you're treated like a stranger every time even if you come in multiple times a week

Why take payments through mobile device if you're going to ID somebody who comes in 3-4 times a week and knows you by name? If I'm coming back from the gym I frequently only have my phone and not my wallet on me. Anally retentive store owner Robby is the one idiot who cards me, despite my familiarity with the staff as a regular customer. Will not be taking my 💰 elsewhere. Boy I can't wait until this place goes out of business. As mentioned in other reviews, one would expect that a modicum of courtesy would be extended to locals who frequent this store and support the establishment. Instead you're treated like a stranger every time even if you come in daily. Insufferable rudeness

As with other reviews, the staff is pretty ridiculous. I've not been carded before here (no big deal as I definitely look old enough) until tonight. My wife came in with me, we are recently married and she had her Colorado paper ID from her recent name change. You would think some sort of intelligence would be used in the situation but instead the staff decides we look like we are under 21 and trying to pull one over on him. We are both mid-30's, didn't even get carded at dinner beforehand, have the same name, same year DOB, her middle name now was her last name previously, but yet we get no common sense. There's a sign on the door that they card everyone, great, good for you. Except, if I was trying to pull one over on you and I was of age and she wasn't, wouldn't I just have her stay outside and I just buy the wine? It literally makes 0 sense that she would come inside and show her paper ID or that she would carry around a voided ID, that he said she needed. It's just sad they don't hire people with common sense to work at their store and they will now lose local business because of it.

Love having Uptown Wines in the neighborhood!! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of their product. They have a fantastic selection of beer and are always happy to recommend new and different wine. They also offer a free wine tasting on Friday and Saturday, which is always good in my book! If you're in the neighborhood and need somewhere to get your alcohol fix, this is the place!!
