I transferred from Colorado Technical Universities Doctor of Management Program to University of the Rockies Ph.D. in Organizational Development & Leadership Program. The differences between the two are like night and day. First, employees care about students concerns by returning emails and phone calls. CTU always made me call them and wait in a customer service queue. CTU always acted like students were bothering them. The first residency was a nightmare because Daphne DePorres told me not to research my topic because I would have difficulty gaining access. Second, University of the Rockies financial aid department knows how to apply the money and does not overcharge by mistake and then make students pay back thousands of dollars. CTU screwed up FA numerous times. The first time was in my undergrad years and I ended up paying them back 7000 dollars through pell grants. I was only able to figure out this problem because I am smart; CTU wanted to make me pay out of pocket. It was my recommendation, by increasing enrollment to full-time and thus being eligible for the full pell grant, that saved my college career. The only reason I stayed with CTU through the master program and 16 credits into the doctor of management was because I learned a lot from the material plus being able to study criminal justice, which is my passion. I left after a short enrollment period in CTU's DM Program because of the lack of concern of key faculty that were supposed to help students graduate, not hinder them with research opinions. I also was fined 1000 dollars by FA due to a third screw up on their end. When I called to correct the issue and tell them I was going to drop the program, they cut the 1000 dollar fine to 500 dollars. I was not satisfied because CTU was not taking complete ownership of their 1000 dollar mistake. I was so angry with CTU that I figured they would screw with my FA a fifth time, so I immediately talked to enrollment advisors at University of the Rockies to see what would transfer. To my surprise only one class transferred because CTU uses the outdated quarter credit system, which is used by schools that are more interested in gaining money and refusing to teach anything to students. University of the Rockies uses the semester credit system in line will all other established universities. I decided the switch to the Ph.D. from the DM because research tends to be more important than listening to people validate their expertise at what CTU calls symposium. I feel better with University of the Rockies because everything is based on research, not expert opinion of the faculty. The doctor of philosophy is more concentrated on developing theories than professional career readiness immediately after graduation. In fact, the Ph.D is well-known for developing college instructors than moving people into professional outfits other than academia. I plan on becoming a college instructor directly after graduation. In sum, these are the key reasons for attending University of the Rockies over CTU. I still have respect for CTU, just less respect for their doctoral programs due to all of the screw ups and 0 accountability.

Run away. This school has been a huge disappointment. As a recent graduate, I have had issue after issue for the last 5 years. Constant disrespect from the administration, incompetence on most levels, poor communication, and now, more misunderstanding with financial aid issues. The school has reported me as "gone" for months while was in attendance, screwing up my repayment plans and causing me hours upon hours of time trying to fix it. Stay away. The changes taking place within the school over the last 3-4 years are a leap towards the dark side NOT towards anything positive.

A doctoral student in Organizational Psychology, Health and Wellness. Ready for dissertation now! Have been supported all the way, academically, financially, and personally. Great in-residence weekends in Colorado Springs and Denver, Colorado to meet students and instructors in person, with a new modern building. Practicum allowed original research and prepared me for dissertation. Improved my confidence and ability to reach out to others in their health and wellness needs at work. Helped me to become an agent for change. Online classroom setting works well, includes social media and ebooks. Experienced instructors, of diverse backgrounds. Promotes diversity. Very uniqiue school of psychology.

After graduating with a Bachelor's a year ago, I had my heart set on the University of the Rockies. However, after my marriage, I am unable to move to Colorado for at least two years, so I inquired after the online Master's program. In a wonderful turn of events, I was admitted the same day (minus a few strings to tie). Over the course of two years in debating going back to school, I have always talked to very informative admissions counselors at Rockies with pleasant dispositions. The online degree is credible because there is a physical campus. I hope to complete an on-campus Doctorate in Colorado Springs once I finish my Masters degree. I cannot wait.

I inquired about coming to school here for the fall session after I finished over at Ashford. Yeah I may not be a 4.0 student but I still am a student who worked her butt off to graduate. I set up a call with the Financial Aid Counselor on Friday to call me between 11 - 12 so that we could go over the program I wanted to enter, the classes involved, and the options of when to start, and financing. I had something else planned and changed my plans because I was waiting on that call from him. That man never called me. He had said he was going to send me emails to look over; I never received any of those either. If I am not a fit for your school then that's fine you just need to say so. Don't make dates, say stuff that you are going to do and put in calendar things so I change my plans so I can talk about things and then you don't do what you say. It's not fair to people who want to enter college. Today is Wednesday June 12, and I still have never heard or received one response from this school. So I am assuming I am not welcome here. Thanks for your input.
