::Love this place and our dogs love it too! There's a large, open field and about a 1 mile loop around a small lake that are both off-leash. The terrain is uneven most of the way, if that's a factor. There are no completely fenced in areas and multiple trails feed into the loop all the way around so bring a leash if your dog has a tendency to wander too far away. The lake water is accessible at many points along the walk, which our 2 love, but pay attention to recent news and signs posted for moose, bears, aggressive beavers and water-borne pathogens.

::Wonderful 🐕 park even if you don't have dogs.

::While parking at times might be sketchy, this clearly is a great place to take your dog. This is an off leash area on the university side (not sure if all around the lake), and even in the cold part of winter, and the darkness of night in January, it is very active with people and dogs. Expect to see a flock of little red led lights on the collars of dogs flitting about the place at night. It is Alaska's version of fireflies. Every evening they are out in force during winter. Take your dog and say hello. 😊

::Beautiful spot right near UAA. Foolish not to go.

::Fantastic option for dog walking in Anchorage. Walk around the lake trail is about 1 mile. Field area for dog socialization is near the parking lot. Dog owners are usually good about cleaning up after their pets. Quiet nature setting with mountain views. Beaver ponds exist on the southeast corner of the lake.
