  members only but a gem in midtown. The reading room in particular is quite nice. It is very quiet and looks very grand and European.

  The highest ranking man ever in the U.S. Navy was a member here. Also, before you write bad reviews, remember that this place is old fashioned. Do not expect to find new-age rave parties, or a place to get drunk, or to "take a woman here", because this club is for the high society folks who want to wind down.

  The United States Steel Corporation was Conceived on this location a hundred or so years ago. A billion Dollar Baby thanks to Charles M Schwab. So before the low ratings, realize you are standing on a peice of history, that has given Wallstreet and the rest of the known world, that which goes into the silverware, the cars, and various other products and goods as a result. When J.P. Morgan pulled the Carnegie Steel Machine underneath his net. This location, is a part of history.
