  My package got stolen out of the self-drop bin. Post office said that never received it there. Because anybody can reach in and take out the boxes. So somebody got nothing on their special day , even though there was a handmade cake, card, and many other things in the box. There needs to be a lot more security on that box, and it needs to be emptied a whole lot more frequently than it is. And this was in the summer, not Christmas time.

  If you're trying to get a passport from this location, don't even bother scheduling. Scheduled for passport service for my wife and my two kids, waited a whole month for my appointment just to find out “we don't take infant pictures”. Even though I scheduled photo services.theres nowhere on the website that states they don't offer this service. At least put out a notice so people don't waste a day off and their time visiting. The staff looked annoyed and didn't want to be bothered at all. I hope he's just having a bad day and he doesn't treat everyone like this regularly. Took back my documents and I'm going to schedule somewhere else, like the San Ramon office where I got mine renewed last time. Never coming back to this place again. Zero star service. Don't waste your time.

  I have been living in Alameda for the past 3 years. My experience at this post office has always been very pleasant. They have been efficient and courteous. I was little surprised by such low rating.

  This is my favorite post office in the Bay! I’ve been coming here for years and the people who work here are wonderful; always kind, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable in my experience. While I would never expect perfection, I have yet to have a bad experience here. Even when there are lines they tend to move quite quickly. The negative reviews are, I’m sure, coming from the few unfortunate situations that are bound to crop up here and there throughout the years. People are just much more likely to go out of their way to comment and rate a business when an adverse event happens VS. a positive one. Please keep in mind that for each of the negative reviews, there are hundreds of customers, I’m sure, who come in and out of this store every day with ease and a good experience. We just don’t tend to “write home” about those as much as we probably could ;) Big THANK YOU to all of the staff here!

  Alameda Main Post Office has plenty of free parking, polite and knowledgeable staff, a self service kiosk. Easy wheelchair access.
