Terrible experience. My mother did not have long to live. The intake people were excellent and accepted her right away. The finance people however were terrible. Took over six weeks of me calling them to find out what was going on. Kept getting runaround from Fran who made no real effort to get things straightened out as my mom was from the city and we wanted her to be close. Long story short my mother suffered for six weeks and never got the comfort care she needed. I am sure the facility and care is probably nice but thanks to certain staff my mom never got that chance to experience it. Thanks UHR. I have no other words for what I feel for them but cannot recommend them based on my experience.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. They support both the patient and their loved ones, even helping provide counseling for the grieving family members who may be feeling emotional loss long after. We would have been lost without this service.

My family and I had a very negative and traumatic experience with United Hospice of Rockland when my 31 year old brother was admitted to UHR's Joe Raso Residence when my mother could no longer care for him at home. He was not fed or hydrated adequately during his time there, staff was extremely inconsistent in attentiveness and policies regarding family staying overnight with him differed greatly from what is on their website. We tried to move my brother to another hospice but unfortunately could not. All in all, the hospice seems equipped to deal with older, lower-need patients, and was inconsistent in their care and dealings with family at a very vulnerable time.
