::Every day I look forward to coming to Tae Kwon Do to alleviate all stress that I may have from my busy days in the Bronx; from the wonderful staff (Second, Third, and Fourth Dan Black Belts currently) who I all feel a strong family-like connection to (Due to the three or more classes a week), to Quanjunim Lugo (Playfully nicknamed "Big Sir" to avoid saying lengthy Korean words) who I feel a very, very close friendship to and feel as if can go to him for anything personal or financial, in many cases of both has helped me immensely. Quanjunim is a no-disrespect kind of guy, and does not tolerate a lack of an upkeep of respect in the school (would also explain the pushups scenario in the poorly written 1-star review). Quanjunim has an extreme level of skill in sparring, Tae Kwon Do, and many other martial arts. Quanjunim has never treated me poorly and all of his criticism is constructive and I am thankful for it. In regards to sparring, it is a necessary part of the program, I at first was a little worried, but over time I became to know and love sparring. If anyone has a problem with the sparring, I ask you this, Why do you live in New York City...Or even more so the Bronx, the toughest part of it? Do you want your children to be jumped or harmed? Isn't it better if your children fights in a safe environment and learn how to defend themselves and those around them? I with as much strength as I can muster fully recommend for every one to come and try a class for free, than see how you like it. I have many relationships that have come out of my class and am thoroughly thankful to Quanjunim, due to me not meeting these people otherwise. Thank you for reading! (I am almost a purple belt, and in the Adult Class) IN RESPONSE TO POSH PARTIES: I could not write a review without addressing these atrocious claims. 1. The school becomes cramped when there is over twenty-five people on the floor at the same time, still leaving room for the parents after the fact. 2. There are two instructors (one a 4th Degree Black belt and one a 5th Degree) and many junior instructors either testing for black belt or are black belts who are learning how to teach. 3. Instructor gives tips to the kids or adults who are learning to teach to give your children a better martial arts education. 4. Is the criticism that the kids are wearing protective gear? Sparring is required as part of the defensive curriculum. 5. This concern is one that shows you were not at the school for more than twenty minutes, there are multiple classes for each belt group. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Black belt. 6. The after-school programs cuts into the begging of the first class, they are always quiet and respectful and are in the spacious back-area, away from class. 7. The grammar is so bad I honestly couldn't understand this question. 8. There is a well-sized standing area that leads to a half-wall, this spot has about 10 or more chairs and can fit 20-25 people total. 9. At this point, Sir dedicates the floor to having the kids put on the gear. 10. Using the bathroom before class is recommended and allowed before class. This "Kid" was not allowed to go. 11. I seriously can not understand a word you are trying to say, but I think you mean that Sir would force children to do 100 pushups if he didn't like them..... I think you went to a different place, maybe? When there is talking or a lack of discipline Sir corrects it by punishing the kids who have caused it with 25 pushups. 12. There is a time dedicated to stretching before class starts. Even more so, after that there are pushups and different forms of exercise. And when class is over and sir will talk stretching is required. 13. There is an option to put any medical needs at the bottom of the forum. -_- 14. I can not understand this question either and I think you are just repeating one of the first few. Please do not listen to that review, you can not make a judgement if you have not attended almost all of the classes. Thank you! God bless!

::If you want your kid to be a Bully and learn to beat the crap out of each other then this is the place for you. 1. The location is extremely small and a fire hazard 2. There only 1 instructor and has 2 to 4 young helpers who have no ideal what going on. 3. Instructor has stupid conversations in between classes with the other pretend instructors 4. Kids were armor to beat each other up 5. There are 3 to 4 different belts in one class ratio of kids 25 to 30 kids not getting the individual attention they need 6. They have kids in the back doing homework kidding around while classes are going on 7. Having kids drop off running back and forth while class is going on 8. There is standing room only after 8 chairs for parents to wait for their kids 9. There is no room for kids to take off their shoes, putting on gear they are all over the place. 9. The house cleaner or whatever she is was cleaning while the classes were going on and having conversation with the instructor 10. A kid had to go to the bathroom went up to the instructor to ask Lugo got mad at the kid and said next time you will do 25 push ups. 11. Any kid that he didn't like what they were doing he would ask them to do 25 to 100 push ups. 12. There was no proper warm up before or after the class 13. I never had to fill out a medical form indicating if my kids had asthma, allergies or anything else wrong with them 14. The door was block aways by parents because there was no where to sit or stand this is a fire hazard. There is nothing positive I can say at this place I would have given it no stars but you have to give it a star. The state and board of health would have field day at this location. It is even dangerous entering and leaving everything is block off and the worst part it is right next to a gas station.
