::I applied for a position with MTPD and submitted an application. I then received an invitation to perform in the physical agility test as a part of the pre employment process. I was required to submit a pre employment investigation questionnaire that asked some background information questions which I did early in the week. In order to participate in the fitness test a medical waiver needed to be signed by a physician after a physical exam was conducted. On Friday morning, the day before the physical agility test, I spent $82 on a physical examination, money that I do not have to spare but did because I was eager about competing for this job. At 4:15pm the same day, I received an email stating that I was ineligible for the position. I am not disappointed with the decision, however I am severely agitated by the unprofessional-ism of the receptionist at the recruitment center as well as the manner in which this decision was delivered. It is disgraceful to tell a candidate the day before (when the necessary documents were emailed days in advance) that he is no longer eligible especially after money was spent on a physical per their specific instructions. I asked about a reimbursement of funds when I called the recruiting center and the lady was extremely rude and dismissive, not conducive of a public serving entity. It is sad that an organization designed to serve its community could treat it so poorly.
