::Always friendly staff, clientele are eclectic & make for good people watching. This Trader Joe's is generally well stocked, they fit a lot of the Trader Joe's diverse inventory in a small space. Very efficient check-out with plenty of checkers always available. Free covered parking available, too!

::One of the better Trader Joe's I've ever shopped at. Especially considering that it's located in a bustling downtown area, they are always *on top* of organizing the store and allocating enough shifts to college students in the area so that the lines are never long. Frankly, it's genius. So why not 5 stars? I love this place as much as anybody, but I'm pretty frequently harassed by panhandlers outside the front entrance and near the small parking lot in the back. Normally it's not a big deal, but I've had a few uncomfortable experiences before that make me only ever want to drop by at the right times. Is it something the store can fix? Probably not. Those people are never in the store itself and Joe's can't really be held responsible for public space. If I could I would give Joe's 5 stars and the sidewalk outside about 3, but since I can't.. 4 will just have to do it.

::The staff are SO FRIENDLY AND NICE. They really make you feel so good. They have the best prices on groceries in town. It gets very busy and sometimes they run out of stuff but they work really hard to stay stocked. The downsides are that they don't carry everything you might need in the kitchen and the produce seems to go bad quickly.

::I don't get to go there very often, but I love it when I do. They always have goodies that I can get. Now is the time of year when there are cinnamon peppermint tea is in. Yum! Both the Oakland store and this Berkeley one have it. They're Swiss chocolate hazelnut bars are delicious, but watch out for the carbs! Just go slow, they're worth it. Get yourself a cinnamon wood witch's broom if you have a mind to make your house smell like cinnamon. Great for this time of year!

::Extremely community minded and friendly store. They always support my indie film events with snack and drink donations. Thank goodness they're not just another corporate entity, but actually seem to care about citizens of Berkeley!
